Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

I test drove an A10 and 6MT 4BW at my local dealer. The salesperson said to keep the engine under 4.5k. He also let it warm up first. It would have been nice to drive a used model to see the upper end of the engine.

Yeah, I'm in the camp that doesn't want some bozo practicing no-lift-shifts on my new, not yet broken in car.

I test drove a used one. I would have bought it, except that it smelled.

Naperville could have written that better, but I basically agree with them.

That's all good and fine - but the guy was a dick about it, you can test drive elsewhere, and he's bragging about selling over MSRP after someone waited over two years... so yeah, like you said they could have written it better for sure.

In 2022 it was impossible for nearly everyone to get a test drive. In fact I never saw a 5BW until mine arrived. This is 2024 and one should be able to find a used one to test drive. They may have to fly out somewhere, but it's doable. And yes I don't want anyone driving my car before I buy it.
I have to agree with several points here.
I can’t find one just sitting on a lot in my neck of the woods to test drive.
I ordered my 5BW because I drove two used ones I found on lots (a manual and an automatic). I ordered a manual.
I don’t want anyone driving my car before I buy it so therefore I order it and pick it up immediately.

Anyone negotiate on an order? I realize there's not much leverage with an order, just curious if they move at all on price. The 4BWs at my dealer have been on the lot for a while.

I was able to get $10k off of my truck when I ordered it.

It looks like you can get between $3-13k off of something that is sitting on a lot now. Most car dealers have a profit margin. I'm sure it depends on the options.

maybe on the special editions, i think those are the only ones left over. not a single car on the lot below $75k msrp within 200 miles of me :(

The 13k was on a non special edition mentioned here a couple of weeks ago. It had both carbon options. Someone mentioned 20k off a special edition, but I can't verify it.

I was the one that got $13k off with both carbon packages about a month ago. I also had to go to Dallas to get it, but with that savings it was an easy choice to buy it and drive back to Nashville.

ideally i can trade my car in so im trying to stay within driving distance but i might have to just sell it separately at this point and do what you did

List them here...I purchased from Novi cadillac in Michigan ,I was referred by GM ,after my vegas dealership wanted 15k then 10k and your on the list answered, Shane at Novi was great ,128 for airfare and 1200 shipped door to door ,

I seen your post but the price point seemed it was for a ct5v was it for a blackwing ,

Les Stanford in MI was pricing their remaining CT5 BW even in manual $4k under msrp. I think now the bubble has popped and u should be able to order and get one easily. But I wouldn’t wait on 25 because I agree it will have a decent increase in price.

Found out today to be wary of dealers who are advertising under MSRP using the guise of GM employee or friends/family discount. It is a blatant lie.

Details?

Saw a '24 Blackwing pop up at a dealership two and a half hours away for a killer price (~$94,500). Turns out that price was due to a 10 grand GM employee discount. I talked to 4 separate sales people who said the price was legit, and that I should come in and work out the details with the sales manager.

Finally got the sales manager on the phone after cumulative hours of being on hold, he told me right away that Blackwings are not eligible for any GM discounts and the price would be the $104k MSRP. I told him about the price advertised on their website, as well as what I was told by four sales people, he apologized, and this morning the price was corrected on their website.

Long walk for a short drink of water. I'm still in the market for a Blackwing.

glad you didnt drive there to find that out

I see that "my" 2024 5BW is at Myrtle Beach Cadillac at what looks like MSRP. I told them I wanted a one back in fall of 2022. They had no allocations or anything but apparently ordered the car on spec exactly as I wanted (Blue, M6, PDR, Red belts/brakes, gray seats, no sunroof). It is listed on the inventory search. I told my wife about it and she did say "we have a 3rd car garage", but I seriously doubt she was actually serious since I already got my new car in spring of 2023. But I do kind of want it. Hopefully someone on here will find it is what they want.

The dealership I had my order with for a 2025 CT5V BW pushed the order through as a 2024 model. The salesman messaged me saying my car had arrived. They obviously didn’t push me to buy it. My wife said I could buy it if I didn’t want to wait any longer. I looked at it online almost every day until it sold. 🤣
