CT5V BW Cold Start Exhaust Sound

I am very interested in buying a 2025 CT5V BW. I was at a dealership a few months ago and they started up a 2024 model using the key fob inside the dealership. The cold start exhaust sound was incredible (I'm a big" loud exhaust" fan). Was at a dealership this past weekend and they cranked up a 2025 model with the key fob inside the dealership and the cold start exhaust sound was good, but sounded muted. The Sales Manager helping me said they made a change for the 2025 Model Year. You now have to start it up and then press the V button inside the car. As soon as you do that, the exhaust is twice as loud and sounds bad to the bone. My question is, was this change really made for 2025 or is there a setting where you can make the exhaust loud on initial start up? Thanks!

Your My Mode setting can be set to open valve so you get the glorious feedback of a cold LT4.

v-mode has to be pressed at each start up as the car does not remember this mode at shut down. If you set up mymode with track exhaust and shut the car off there, it will remember mymode settings at start up. there is a entire thread here on it I recall

This is exactly what I do. My "My Mode" is my daily driver mode and it has everything soft, and the loudest track exhaust. My V mode tightens up steering and suspension while keeping that loud exhaust mode. The "My Mode" selection stays put even after turning the car off.

But we still get a tiny % of the cold-start throttle that 'Vettes and Camaros get. They sound WAY better on start-up regardless of the mode your BW is in.

Right, that glorious "explosion" at cold start is there regardless of my mode, V mode, whatever mode. I don't daily mine but would probably feel bad if I was leaving for work at 5am everyday. I think the OP is saying that is gone.

Interesting, that is definitely one thing my 25 5V retained. I’m actually looking to set my mode for early morning quiet mode for my neighbors.

Thankfully I don't commute in mine, so I don't worry so much.

I already warned my neighbor that "Fast & Loud" was continuing - 1st the Harley, then the Ducati, and now the Cadillac.

Set my mode to track exhaust and leave the car in my mode. Whenever you start it it will be loud, doesn't matter if its a 2022 or a 2025.

I also implore you not to get the remote start because that implies the transmission that will retain less value..

... read this as I just remote started my car to warm it up because it's 11° here this AM
... and then immediately remember that you're from Canada and still don't need it!

Interesting, that is definitely one thing my 25 5V retained. I’m actually looking to set my mode for early morning quiet mode for my neighbors.

I had a neighbor (& friend) ask me a few years ago where my SS was (it was in the shop after getting rear ended by a teenager)... because he was used to hearing it start up at 530am each day before I went to work from about 5 houses down the street (and my garage was even facing the other way).

Since then I use My Mode with the exhaust quieted down and my garage door closed (I immediately open after) each AM on my SS and now 5BW.
...every other time I at least pop it in Sport just before shutting it down just to hear it upon start up and with this cold weather it sounds glorious! (I know it's still not full open... but sounds great... and still get plenty of reactions)
