CT5-V Why is the exhaust so quiet inside?

CT5-V Model
arent you guys worried about voiding your drivetrain warranty on a $100k car just to have a little more sound? i know the burden of proof is on the dealer if they want to deny a warranty claim due to modifications but with aftermarket headers that doesnt seem like it would be hard to argue. cat, or even axle, back exhaust not so much I guess

An exhaust won't void your warranty. The headers can certainly void the powertrain but the burden of proof is on them to determine they were the culprit.

Ultimately I would probably just go with the Corsa exhaust.

Its unfortunate the car is so quiet inside. If they made a Chevy version of the Blackwing it would be the one to have, less insulation and sound deadening and still drives great.

Would probably sell more of them as well.

Of course they would sell more because they would be same car 25k cheaper!

Anyone planning on scooping up a Corsa exhaust when the Black Friday sales come along?

In my experience, I've had no issue with cat-back systems from the dealer. Obviously, if something is amiss with the exhaust system, that's my issue. But from cats-forward, to include O2 sensors, that would be covered unless they can prove my cat-back caused the failure or malfunction.

All that said, on my first visit to the Caddy dealer, my service advisor told me my transmission issue was not covered because I installed a blower... to which I had to explain to them that GM installed it from factory. YMMV

Wait.. he said your STOCK blower was aftermarket? Did he not know they were supercharged from the factory? lol

The only thing that was changed was the lid, which is blue. Otherwise stock blower. I think the lid threw everyone off. Either way, after a couple conversations explaining the BW was SC from factory, the lid was cosmetic/sound, some googling on their part “MPI LT4 lid” they moved on with the repair.

Was funny though, when they were closing out the work order, I saw they had printed out several pages from the MPI website about the lid and attached in to the work order file.
