Me talking to my service advisor: Hey buddy, I need to set up an appointment to have my CF spoiler installed, lol... Easy peasy!

Yes. It comes with a paper template. You are supposed to use a punch first and then use progressively wider drills to drill it. You also have to remove the trunk liner first. The accessories.cadillac.com website has a 20 page instruction pdf on how to install it. Supposedly to remove the existing spoiler you are to use a hairdryer and fishing line. However there is a catch that the existing spoiler has 3 pegs that go into the existing screw holes in the trunk lid that doesn't let the fishing line go all the way across, so the detailer said it was some work to get it off without pulling off all the PPF.

I actually was going to install it myself and take pictures of the whole process but I chickened out in the end.

Has anyone done the install themselves and have first hand experience of how hard or not hard it was?

So my dealer service advisor quoted me $780 to install the OEM CF wing ...discounted to $660 since I am a VIP customer ...what have you guys been quoted by the dealer? That's way out of whack lol

I do want the rear wing and I would install it myself. I’ve already taken the trunk liner out to replace the rear emblem. That’s a 10m job. The drilling is no big deal, I put fender flares on my Jeep that required drilling lots of holes in the body panels and installing rivnuts. The key is to use a step drill bit and of course a center punch.

If I install the rear wing, I will post a write up. Could be a while because I have a 23 5BW on order with CF1 and may not do too much on my 22 for now.

Seems way whack. When you buy it from the site there is a dealer install option and it's like 200ish dollars at the various dealers I selected. Ultimately I just didn't want some random dealer taking the blackwing for a "function test" for the spoiler or messing up the PPF, so I went with my detailer.

They reduced it to $375 after I spoke to them...they said they have done it before....how much did the detailer charge you? It's NY rates here

It was 700 all in for PPF and install. Originally quoted 350 for PPF, so I guess the install was 350 too?

On the GM accessories page it shows dealer install is $300. I also find it odd that on the CT5 page they show pictures of a CT4 spoiler.
