Blackwing Order Tracking - 2022 Model Year

Well...shit...I tried deleting a couple posts out of the old order tracking thread and I apparently nuked the whole damn thread! :r :hb

NOTE: the order tracking system is for U.S. based orders only. I can only view orders placed with dealers in the U.S.
NOTE: I will only track ONE order per member. If you have orders in at multiple dealers, pick one...

It really wouldn't be so bad if they'd just tell us what's going on. Ran out of this specific chip for my car? Cool, I can wait. No truckers available? That's cool too. It's never knowing what's going on that kills me and probably everyone else. Good luck everyone!

For the most part... dealers are left in the dark as well...
Customers = stuck in a room, no windows, no light, looking for writing on a wall written in disappearing ink
Dealers = same thing but we have a night light across the room.

The thought has crossed my mind. If I hadn't switched sides I might be looking to see if I could get into the internal camera systems haha!
Been thinking about looking up Lansing MI employees on linkedin to see what I can find out lol

Every second those guys spend writing an email, taking a phone call or explain the same thing over and over, is more more second they are not doing their jobs. It doesn't help..

I know all of them on a first name basis and I assure you, they feel your pain.... They understand...... They spent several years designing and testing a car and then a only a fraction of its full potential are being sold due to no fault of their own, or anyone at GM/Cadillac.

I no longer release our order numbers because it just becomes ammo for other dealers to scare customers with. They tell them "Sewel has XYZ on their list and we only have XYZ," when in fact, we may get 30x more allocation than that dealer, but that dealer doesn't disclose all information or understand how allocation works,

I also no longer release how many allocations we get each week because it causes other dealers to complain....... We don't get the most because we just do... We get the most because we sell the most... We sell the most because we are transparent, don't overcharge and we (the ones involved with V orders) are enthusiast / gearheads just like you all so we "get it." We know what you expect because its the same thing we expect... Its really that simple... You guys aren't then only ones who turn around and look at your car when you walk away after parking.... or check up on her in the garage, knowing damn well that garage door is closed and she's doing just fine... LoL

In reference to orders...... out of all of my 5V BW orders that were picked up for production last week, only two of them have TPW's already.... 4/4 and 4/18
Understood, more curiousity as far as how much 5BWs you guys are moving right now. Seems like demand for 4s have tapered off and more folks are dropping their 4s for 5s. Almost tempted to drop my 5 order for that orange manual 4 you still got just cuz I'm itching to drive something again. The beater E46 wagon is getting old...not...sure...how...much...i...can...hold...out....

Is your rep shedding any light on the cars that are built, but sitting in Lansing? For example my CT4 was built 1/24 and is still at 3800, going on two months. Do you think the cars are on hold waiting for parts or is it logistics? I guess I'm spoiled, my C8 was shipped 2 weeks after it was built.

It is often comical reading these forums and seeing how much frustration is caused. And like everything else in 2022 life, people feel entitled. Entitled to information, entitled to getting what they want regardless of other factors involved.

How would you like to be Cadillac, and know you are missing out on millions in sales because you cannot produce the cars to meet the demand? How would you like to be a salesperson at an ordinary dealer with low or moderate allocations, with little inventory on your lot, and having to turn away a 100k sale because there is 0 chance of getting the product? For all of us, me included, dropping 5-10k of carbon off of our builds because we can't get those parts - don't you think Cadillac and the dealers would rather our MSRP include all of those things? How would you like to be a factory worker that gets dismissed for 2 weeks because the plant needs to shut down?

Everyone has their own priorities. Thanks be to God that getting or not getting a car, with or without carbon fiber, is one of mine.

As someone who's business has significantly been not only affected by the supply chain, but also the Ukraine it is frustrating. Having customer's with money in hand and not be able to take their money, especially when you really need that money is a terrible feeling.

That being said the one thing that we do try to do is communicate to our customer's accurately as we can what is going on. This is harder during these issues, but the least that can be done is have a order tracking system that is at least accurate and up-to-date. Hearing people's stories here makes it seem like GM's order system is completely out of whack sometimes.

Coming from the E46 platform, you would be very, very happy with a 4. Except if you really need to use the backseat for anyone other than children.

Generally, that is a vehicle waiting for carbon fiber...

Also, sitting at the upfitter waiting on parts vs sitting at the VDC are two different things.... Most of these cars, not close to the plant, go by train first.... The train doesn't leave until its full.... It may take weeks to fill it up...

I have an order from someone pretty high up at GM. His vehicle was built 1/12/22 and still on hold...... He doesn't get special treatment... All orders are treated the same. Example shown below.

Personally, I am not aware of any of my customers dropping 5's to get the 4's... I have had multiple order 4's while they wait for their 5...

With that said, I am expecting several to drop their 5 after getting the 4 because the 4, while both have their pros/cons, is the true drivers car imo, and they will fall in love with it... Every customer that I have who has had both, loves to drive the 4/ATS more than their 5/CTS.... You just cant replace the raw power and sound of the V8..... You can make a v6 sound better, but you can never make it sound great.... You can just make it sound great for a v6.. Fortunately, I think GM did a damn good job with the exhaust from the factory on the 4... It was okay on the ATS-V

Here's the ATS-V I had.... cammed, Kooks DP/MP, stock muffler... chilly morning at like 5am heading to the track

Thanks for the little peek behind the curtain. :) I want one of these printouts when I pick up my car. :D It's like watching your baby take it's first steps. :giggle:

I got the call from the dealer Thursday morning to tell me they've got an allocation for me, and I gave him the deposit and told him the build I emailed is my final choice. It's already at 2000 status!
Once the allocation is matched it takes off (at least for a little bit). :D

I'm hoping with the car extremely light on options which are all cosmetic, it won't hit any delays.

Question for you all: Once the car leaves the factory/Lot of Doom and gets on the train/semi truck, how long do I have until it reaches the west coast? Trying to figure out the best time for lining up the financing.

There is no answer for your question that can be accurate.

Looking for a rough timeline. Most of the waiting hell involves just sitting on the lot after the car is produced. I figured it's easier to find out a rough transit time once the car is physically on its way to the final destination, no?
My order: Car Produced 2/24. Still sitting at 3800. Dealer said 2 weeks ago it would be in 3-5 weeks. Yesterday, asked if they could provide a VinView snapshot to see if the car is still waiting somewhere or on the journey West. They replied, "Sorry, it's delayed, we don't know why".

Rough timeline = 3-5 weeks, or I dont know, or Ask @Akamai58 or any others, and you will get a rough estimate of 5 weeks- 52 weeks. Helpful, no. Financing rates rapidly changing, yes. Good luck to us.

My experience so far for reference:
Car was delivered by JCT to the Lansing VDC on 3/16 and made it to the Mesquite, TX (outside Dallas) VDC on 3/25. This part of the trip was all rail. Mine is not a BW, though and someone said all BWs go by car carrier. I don't know if that is true.

Generally, but not always. My car has zero CF and has been built since late January as far as I can tell, still waiting (4D00 status). Shipping issues (or ???), but not waiting for CF.
