Blackwing Order Tracking - 2022 Model Year

Well...shit...I tried deleting a couple posts out of the old order tracking thread and I apparently nuked the whole damn thread! :r :hb

NOTE: the order tracking system is for U.S. based orders only. I can only view orders placed with dealers in the U.S.
NOTE: I will only track ONE order per member. If you have orders in at multiple dealers, pick one...

So the car was shipped with the blocks in the spring. I’m assuming I just need to Jack up front and the shipping blocks will pull out?
It’s supposed to be shipped that way. They’re supposed to be removed at the dealership during PDI.

Yea, and sounds like your dealer shit the bed on this...

Mine were taken off and placed inside of a bag and left in the trunk:rolleyes:

I've heard of the need to recalibrate the MegneRide in a situation like that.
How is that done? I was at the service department and told them about this and asked them to document it in case there were some damage to the magneride. But as usual, they were clueless.

I had to call 10+ dealerships to find a foreman that knew something about "re-calibrating" mag ride for my SS.

He explained it's usually not necessary unless you significantly raise or lower the car. All they do is change the "zero" factor so the suspension can properly compensate for the lowering springs.

Well IIRC, he had the car shipped in an enclosed trailer from the dealer to his house. In that case the dealer was probably right to leave them in but should have informed him that they were still there and would need to be removed.

I had 400 miles on my car before I realized they were still there.
Oof. More common than it should be across manufacturers. PDI is pretty low on the service dept. food chain.
Fortunately mine were in the glovebox (or front passenger footwell I forgot which) so I had easy confirmation they took them out.

IIRC, the Camaro has the gen 3 MRC which has sensors to monitor suspension position. The Blackwings use the gen 4 MRC which does not have them. It just has sensors that are bolted to the hub to measure velocity. You shouldn't need to zero anything.

Not unless your Porsche! Instead of a PDI being something that is mandatory when you purchase a new vehicle so the dealer can confirm nothings broken before you drive away with it (and thus a free service), they charge you thousands for the privilege to have them do a mandatory PDI to ensure your car isn't broken before driving it away! So they love doing them because they get even more money!

The MRC seems fine and the car rides smoother than my AMG did on the softest setting. As far as I can tell the dealer did next to nothing on PDI. I spent a good hour at the dealership looking the body and paint over. Found some scratches on the paint and took photos. Car went to my detailer anyway so I did ask them to do anything. The wheels had some adhesive on them from the covers I think. It took me several hours to remove it. I actually glad I did it and not them. They didn’t install any of the underbody plastic pieces. Did those later after I figured out what they were for.

I’m doing all the basic maintenance myself because the less hands on my vehicle the better off I’ll feel.

Day 2 at V-Academy: We did the demo ride along with the instructor and they showed us how THEY drive the course. It was an eye-opening experience. I was in the wrong gear and not braking as hard as I should be. After the demo.....shaved 10-15 seconds off my times. The demo ride is usually done on day #1, BUT, a CT5 BW blew its motor and dumped some oil on the track. They had to clean it up before we could go out again. The 2nd day was using launch control, more track time , ABS use, and auto cross. There were 3 groups and I won for my group. They give the winners a certificate. There was a professional photographer there on the second day and for $165 (cash discount) they sell you a thumb drive with about 25-30 photos of you driving the course. They do classroom instruction reviewing your PDR video. I now regret not getting the PDR option. It has a ton of information on how you drive. The instructors get up to about 130+/- on the straightaway. I can see that I could get up to 125-129 once or twice. The instructors drive the course at top speed , while watching you from their mirrors and talk to you constantly on the radio. Very impressive talent. The clubhouse, gym, pool , putting green and patio area are beautiful. There is even a two lane indoor shooting area. I wanted to use it but didn't have time. They have an apparel shop with only a few Cadillac jackets (mostly Corvette stuff). High quality and priced items. I did buy a nice winter jacket with Blackwing stitching for $185. *** Not to knock you CT4-V Blackwing guys......but,......your cars are slow !!!! LOL !

Slow, you mean not as fast on that long straightaway? I was faster around the track in the 4BW than I was in the 5BW, and I was pulling 5's thru the corners all day, and I smoked their ass in the autocross by 1 full second....

The poor little 4 BW cant get no love...... I for one love the crap out of mine!

Honestly even if taking cost out of the equation I wouldn't consider a 5bw. Smaller and more nimble is what attracts me to the 4. It will be (if I ever get it) the only vehicle I own that seats more than two people.

Hello @Rob and everyone else. I know that we got a tracker update a few days ago without much positive change, but I got some information from a Cadillac sales operations executive, saying my car was being held for a quality inspection and would be released this week. Makes me wonder if the next update may see a lot of movement in the 4D00 status cars, etc. Crossing my fingers for my car being delivered soon. Actually, my fingers are hurt and deformed from being crossed for a few months.
I know it could be speculation, but I thought I'd share the information I received directly from them.

I certainly appreciate any positive speculation!! We'll probably ultimately be disappointed once again but a glimmer of hope is always nice!

PDR "Option"? This is the first time I have heard this. I thought the PDR stuff was included. Is this an extra fee?

The only extra I have heard is the fee to buy down the insurance deductible. Are there other fees I don't know about?

EDIT Question answered further below:
They're saying they wish they purchased the PDR in their personal vehicle

I really should not write on this forum before my first cup of coffee ...
