Blackwing Order Tracking - 2022 Model Year

Well...shit...I tried deleting a couple posts out of the old order tracking thread and I apparently nuked the whole damn thread! :r :hb

NOTE: the order tracking system is for U.S. based orders only. I can only view orders placed with dealers in the U.S.
NOTE: I will only track ONE order per member. If you have orders in at multiple dealers, pick one...

I took delivery last night too. Wow. What a car. Almost 10 months between initial order and delivery. If I wanted cf I probably wouldn't get a car for a year or two. Effortless and smooth. I'll be working on the paint protection in the next few days. It was hard enough to arrange financing, in the end I wound up going with a 6 year loan through GM.

Heritage Cadillac in Lombard, IL was great. I checked in with them about once a month and they never knew anything. For the goat rodeo participants waiting on these incredible cars, this was my lesson - The ONLY times the dealer ever had information for me was when I placed the order (providing the order number), when I got an allocation, and when it was delivered. Thinking through all my contacts with the dealer, those were the only times they had information and reached out to me. I would email and a always a quick reply, sorry I haven't heard anything. They gave me realistic expectations that I would have the car by the end of the year with my options and they were able to get me an allocation. I couldn't be happier. Well if the weather was a nicer right now and I could spend more time with it before I put it on the trickle charge for the winter. Tho it will be in the 70's here this weekend and I think that will provide me a bit of fun. Not too much tho, until the ppf is done. I'll upload more photos once I get to see it in the light and with a clean camera lens.

Recently in the news, thieves stole 20 cars from a dealer lot within 20 hours. They just broke into the key box and kept returning to steal cars. I wish we could install something that would kill the thief. If I can't have my car, you need to die. Some people say....its only property. They are all Democrats until they become a victim, then they are Republicans and want a death penalty. They used to hang horse thieves back in the day. I wonder what changed.

Republicans want the death penalty for stealing? Are you sure you're not confusing them with Iran?

Does anyone have any specific information regarding last year of 4/5BW production? Will 23 be the last year or will these beasts continue to be built for another couple years?
This is where you insert the WAG comment you already mentioned. :)

I was watching some videos about thieves stealing Hell Cats and Chargers without the key fobs. They get a hold of some locksmith fob programmer and are gone in less than 5 minutes. Has anyone on this forum installed any additional security system or cut off switches in their BW's ? Auto theft is through the roof everywhere.
I have these for my 2500AT4HD, and they work perfectly. No fob signal transmitted unless you crack open the case.

I replied to your earlier question. GODARK Faraday Fob Case. 100%

Congratulations. Seems really odd the part was not prioritized to fix a customer car vs new production. That's a very questionable customer service strategy.

Remember the Dealer is the customer when it come to warranty work and if given a choice between shutting down the factory or putting parts in the supply base for repairs the factory will win every time.

hi @Rob , could you also add mine into track system please? BSPQJ6. have to read though lots of posts here to find out you probably need to manually enter our orders into track system. thought there was some automated link 😂😂😂

Looking at Autotrader it appears that 8 CT5-V Blackwings are being delivered to Lafontaine Cadillac in MI, and mine is 1 of them. 🙂

I slip my fob in a faraday pouch when I come inside and I keep the spare in one also. Anyone that lives in a neighborhood or complex where people can get close should do this.
You can turn off keyless unlocking on most vehicles. They all work a little differently, but in the end, using "signal boosters" to easily steal a car becomes impossible. You physically have to push the unlock button on the fob to unlock and start the car. No need for a Faraday cage, or I've even heard people put their keys in the fridge, or microwave, lol?

On my 5BW (assuming all new GMs as well) you can hold down the lock and unlock button for 4 seconds and now you have to actually have the fob and push the button to unlock the car. Turn it back on the same way.

Honda is the same. VW, you press the lock button, then press the door handle.

I wish more people knew about this, because it's probably the most common way people get cars stolen out of their driveway.

Curious, now. So, does this stop the fob from emitting signals or does the car now just ignore them? Is there a way to tell? If the fob still emits signals, then they could still be intercepted, yes?

It would seem that the unlock signal is different from the constant signal emitted by the remote otherwise the locks would constantly cycle when the key is nearby when keyless entry is turned on independent of one touching the door handle.

I was just curious whether the "presence" signal of the key continues to be broadcast by the fob or ignored by the car.

Yes but physically pushing the button sucks. Keyless entry is popular for a reason, nobody wants to pull the fob out to press unlock then put it away. Nobody wants to interact with the fob at all, that's the beauty of it. Otherwise just give me a normal key if I still have to pull the fob out.

The pouch let's you keep using keyless entry without worrying about someone stealing your signal to steal your car.

I wouldn't want to be without keyless entry, I'd rather use the pouch then disable a feature of my vehicle.

The key still emits the signal. If you pull the handle with the key in your pocket, the lights flash, but the car doesn't unlock.
