without looking like a total knob by asking this, does ANYONE have any idea wtf the deal is w the Carbon packages? i refuse to drop them but this is just a shtshow and makes zero sense to me... i understand the chip issues, but carbon issues? even the chip issues seem to be easing up at this point... i dont know anyone that isnt working that wants to work, so why/how are we having this issue???

we build gas stations for a living and use fiberglass tanks,sumps,and piping. in our industry the glue has been hard to come by and the "chemicals and resins" are hard to get, not necessarily the fiberglass. im not sure if its the same in the carbon biz

Petroleum has an effect on a lot more than most realize.
Chip shortage I worry will get a lot worse in the near future too. Taiwan is the next Ukraine. Mark my words.

Guessing the question was rhetorical and I couldn't agree more. But did you hear about all the "new" jobs added to our economy last month?

I couldn't imagine what regulations would get in the way of starting a new company but guessing years to finalize. Could become very lucrative eventually assuming materials required are still delivering.

IM Flash in Utah made NVM wafers until about 2 years ago. The facility still exists and I bet could be retooled to make silicon with some investment and desire.

Yes, it was reported a CF supplier for Corvettes was ceasing operation Jan 31, making engine appearance pkg henceforth unavailable.

if true, that is a shocking number... and makes plenty of sense... but man does that put us in a bit of a pickle, i have an idea. lets raise minimum wage some more so that people with unique skills can be paid 500k a year and pple at the drivethru are making at least a 100k.... smh...
edit** i didnt mean to start a political rant here, but when you see numbers like that and wonder why inflation is through the roof, it just makes one lose their head a bit

I'll give you an example. For what we do with commercial semiconductors, Tawain charges $ 0.04 cents and in order for us the pay labor, taxes, health insurance, electricity we have to charge at least $ 1.80 each semiconductor and that's just to break even.
