Blackwing Constraints Tracker

With virus outbreak and lockdowns in China and Taiwan seems more likely things will only get worse in the next few months! Just when we all thought light at the end of the tunnel seems like we’re going backwards I’d be happy just to get the car however it shows up. Also don’t really even need it at this point it’s more grave, important issues in the world sad to say. we’re all lucky we have a roof of our head At this point!

It currently does on a regular CT5-V.
The Climate Package Message shows up on Cadillac website when you build a CT5-V Blackwing too. My TPW is next week ... hopefully they pulled all of our car's parts before they ran out of the seat bits and pieces. Fingers crossed!

OK - I've done some more digging and and it's still clear as mud. The Ordering Guide published today (March 18) adds the following wording "TO FOOTNOTE 1" which only applies to the non-Blackwing CT5-V. So maybe there is hope for us yet. Plus - the High-Performance Seats do NOT have this wording. Fingers still crossed that our AQJ/HEA seats are ventilated and heated.

From today's Ordering Guide:
Certain vehicles built on or after March 14, 2022, will be forced to include (00V) Not Equipped with Driver and Front Passenger Heated Seats, which removes driver and front passenger heated seats and (00V) Not Equipped with Driver and Front Passenger Ventilated Seats, which removes driver and front passenger ventilated seats. Vehicles equipped with (00V) Not Equipped with Driver and Front Passenger Heated Seats and (00V) Not Equipped with Driver and Front Passenger Ventilated Seats will be eligible for later dealer retrofit to enable functionality. See dealer for details or the window label for the features on a specific vehicle.

Losing CF bits is one thing but if the car is delivered without heated seats I don't want it.

I can't absolutely confirm, but from what I can see from 2021 repair manuals, it looks like all they have to do is plug in a module under the seat.

There is a module in the trunk for the park assist and one in the steering wheel for the heated steering wheel.

Heated seats aren’t a deal breaker for me. I hate heated seats and heated steering wheels anyway. But I absolutely have to have cooled seats in Texas. I gotta have cold air blowing up my ass during the Texas summer blast furnace!!
I'm in Houston so heated seats are not "needed" but I aint paying six figures for a stripped down car. I'll just stick with Hellrango for longer.

GM doesnt want to be in a position where they arent selling cars because they cant get the chip that makes the seat warm. I mean honestly you arent supposed to drive it under 50 degrees anyway because you wont get good traction and when you have almost 700hp thats kinda important.

Unpopular take: if you don't want your Blackwing without heated seats, then you don't truly want your Blackwing.
Sorry but that's just stupid. It's just like Mopar guys were saying when I complained about misaligned panels..."you don't buy Hellcat for quality. You buy it for performance". When I'm paying for it, I want all the goodies that come with it.

It may be stupid, but it's true. If you are willing to walk away from your Blackwing order just because a minor option won't be available until a few months after you get your car, then that tells me you didn't really want the car in the first place. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Let me make a wild guess that your order is for an automatic? Not that there's anything wrong with that either. Actually yes there is. :p

This thread had gone stupid now.

HELL NO! One of the main reason for buying Blackwing is the manual. If I wanted automatics, I would have gone the European route :)

Most options like heated seats that are restricted will be installed on your car at a later date. You won’t necessarily be without it forever, just installed when parts become available. It’s not like they have to install a new main harness under the molded carpet or new elements in the seat cushions. Install a controller, pop in buttons, plug it in and boom, your asshole is sweating from the heat!
