Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

Cant remember, Summit I think. Don't believe they were sold as a set 5 years ago when I got them. They were much more expensive than the standard ones of the same size. I hope they are now available as a set at amazon.

Yeah, curious how these are to maybe help with wheel spacers for my 5V

Full thread engagement. They do what is advertised. Probably not as strong as full lug nilut thickness but it's not as important on that part of the nut.
If you have a link or anything to them I would love to check it out. Have the same type on my Focus RS

Here's some quick pictures of my "beater" Apex wheel setup. I'll have pictures w/ the VS-5RS once I stop being lazy and finish mounting the tires. These are EC7 in 18x9.5 ET22 (front) and 18x10.5 ET40 (rear) with a 3mm front spacer. This is with the OE tires until the Vitour P1's become available in my size. Photo credit:

@Goingnowherefast looks great. Suspension still factory?
Going to get my OEM tires mounted today to my Apex's! I think the snow and salt for Chicago are mostly done for the season.
Yep, stock suspension & alignment currently.

Yeah I'm pretty close over in Detroit, and it's looking like we're both going to get some 70° weather here this week. Time for summer fun :)

I need to sell my 1LE wheels & tires first, those should fund 90% of the new wheels and tires.

I'm loving the black on blue combo, but I have my heart set on silver 19's. I'll be hating myself trying to keep them clean tho.

Dang. Not sure I noticed that posted. Thanks for the link.
If you haven't installed those pads yet, I suggest cleaning and reusing the OEM pins on the rear. I bought the 1405/1053 combo, and they fit fine except the pins on the rear seem a hair short and they are fatter and hard to drive in. The OEM pins went back easily and still firmly in place. I chipped my calipers trying to drive in the Powerstop pins.

I also swapped on the Summer Apex/Michelin wheels and tires, cleaned the calipers and gave them a little touchup with DIY Ceramic Gloss.

Thanks again for the memo. The incorrect pads just showed up today. I’ll be sending them back so ONLY new wheels will make it on this week.
Typing from my local shop waiting for my tires to be mounted.

The day after I put them on, one tire started loosing air. Today, I pulled this out of a nearly new tire. It was too close to the sidewall, so I had to plug it. Anyone know what this is? How does that get kicked upright to puncture a tire? We had a bunch of roof/siding replacements in the neighborhood and I always scour in front of their driveway, picking up nails. Didn't the last few time roof jobs. Not sure if it's related.

What I found when I switched out my tires/wheels yesterday.

It looks like a threaded dowel used in furniture.
