2023 BMW M2

The previous m2 was quite a front runner for me. It’s a fun little car with surprising amount of interior space.

I liked the engine and the playful nature of it. It felt easier to push the rear out. I also liked the styling too.

Things I didn’t like- the ride was quite firm(no adaptive dampers) and that sometimes felt like it would disturb it mid corner.

Also didn’t like the shifter feel but that’s a known bmw thing.
I did hear about the stiff ride. That would be a deal breaker for me.

I really like it and would consider it, though not as a substitute for the caddy. I cross shopped it against a supra MT and decided to get that. Hoping to pick one up this fall while I wait for my 5BW to get allocated and built.

The savagegeese comparison with both the old F87 and supra is very good.

I actually had a 2021 Supra before I got the 4BW. I got rid of my X3M and the Supra to get the 4. If I was able to get a manual at the time I might have kept it having not owned the 4. After owning the 4 as well as taking both to the track, I'm glad I went the route I did. Not only did it save me a bunch of money on car payments but the 4 is a better driving car stock.

I still really like the Supra and so does my wife but the 4 just does almost everything better.

Honestly, I'd prefer the CTR, but given the pricing being silly, I decided to go to the Supra. The M2 really reminds me of the old E30 M3, boxed fenders and all. I wish the color choices were better, but given the questionable feel of the steering and brakes, it's a hard pass. If I really want an M2, I'll get the F87 Comp.

I was all about it too, thinking it would be my next car. Then the pictures came out and I got that ehhhh feeling. Then they put out pricing and option list that showed them forcing you into a 10k package to get the buckets. I'm not paying 5.5k for options I don't want and it would make the car 73k. Plus as you mentioned, it has very limited exterior and interior color options. This car is a huge miss for me personally.
