Summer tires in cold weather ?

Drive carefully. You can break traction in a blink of an eye with the OEM tires in colder weather, especially if damp or wet pavement.

    Tire/wheel (basic) question

Any reasonably light aftermarket wheels would weigh less than OEM even if a bit larger. The OEM standard front wheel on the CT4 BW is 25.2 lbs, but the Apex VS-5RS in the same size is 17.9 lbs. The rear is 18.2 lbs. For a given wheel/tire combo, if the tire profile is reduced when the wheel is...

Summer tires in cold weather ?

I'm the same as Super Saloon, OEM Michelins on Apex wheels, AS Falken 460s on the OEM wheels for cold season (never snow). If you have space problems, clean the wheels and tires as you take them off, stack them two high in your living room and get a nice piece of glass cut to lay across the...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

It would be inconvenient for a daily use car, but it's not a big deal for a car that's driven occasionally. Press a button or pull a lever and it's up or down in about a minute. If you have a car in the driveway you still have to play the car shuffle to get one out of the garage. BTW, the price...

CT5-V Dumb Question: Lug Nut Part Number?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am ordering a spare set for my 2022 4BW. When I looked them up on the Cadillac Accessories page, it lists PN 85553528. So then I searched all the online sources to get the discounted prices, every one comes back with that PN as Does not fit your vehicle. So...

EV Thoughts Thread: cause the old farts did their usual thing

Three cars with a two car garage? Two words: Stack them! (BTW, that's just an image from a Youtube video, but I did just install mine of the same model. Can't park under it yet waiting to do the high lift garage door mod. $3029 and picked up at the local warehouse)

CT4V BW ordered - what to expect at dealer?

If you have any dealer installed options (black mirror caps, premium floormats, so on) make sure they also give you the original parts (painted mirror caps, standard floor mats). My car also had the black lug nuts and I didn't get the chrome ones, but others have said they got the original...

CT5-V 2025 CT5 Blackwings - have your dealer check oil plug on the front of the engine (Service Bulletin attached)

Seems like a threaded plug vs. a pressed in one would have made more sense for such a critical part. Looks similar to a freeze plug in an engine block and those stay in place fairly well. But still, it's an expensive engine and a few cents more to keep the oil inside the engine is a pretty...

    Subwoofer Install

Just to add to your information and maybe provide some context, this is the index document for Figures 1-10 that correspond to the Documents in your list in order, except for Figure 8 which is Document 5867587 where the others are 5751152 (Fig 1) to 5751160 (Fig 10). Also, I included the Figure...

    CT4-V Spring cleaning

    Personal preference is OEM black.

CT4-V Open exhaust valves without burbles/pops?

In touring mode the Corsa exhaust is just as quiet as stock.

    Subwoofer Install

That doesn't really solve the ANC conflicts though, does it? It just gives a convenient mounting location rather than a speaker housing that others are using.

Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

Apex suggests 3mm is the limit for stock lugs. They sell 3mm spacers for Cadillac. I assume the 4V and 5V are the same bolt pattern.

    Blackwing Constraints Tracker

Yes, I upgraded to the CF front splitter, dive planes, and rear spoiler. I used the Tapout rear spoiler which is identical to the OEM, but I used the OEM nose parts. Originally I ordered the front bumper cover with the dive plane reinforcements, but the body shop paint didn't match the car so I...

    Blackwing Constraints Tracker

As one who didn't have CF1, but upgraded to it, it's not as prone to damage as you might think. The CF splitter doesn't extend lower than the underbody plastic directly behind it, so that's the part that will scrape on speed bumps. The CF does extend out further, so you would have to be...

    Enclosed Shipping Options

If you drive it home don't just set it on cruise control for long periods: That's for CT4, but I expect CT5 is similar.

    PPF Recommendations

Same here, except the door cups and glass. They did the outer wheel but I did the inner side myself to save a couple hundred bucks. It's done its job well so far and the line along the sides isn't noticeable.

    Magnetic drain plugs

The magnets hold themselves to the plug so removing them to remove the plug later is just removing the magnet. I have both those rare earth magnets and the .99 ceramic from Harbor freight, and the .99 ones are really stronger. Placing those two ceramic ones together pinched my finger... You can...

    Magnetic drain plugs

I'd suggest just buying a strong magnet and attach them to the outside of the plug. I tested a ceramic magnet I got from harbor freight on a large 1" bolt and it would pick up a large screw at the other end. They'll hold themselves on to the outside of the plug magnetically. You don't even need...

    retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

I'm not sure if this is the same plug, but it's in the radio section of the service manual. The wire colors seem to match.
