Mine makes the same chirp noise. Honestly, I've read it's nothing but a nuisance and not really an issue if you can live with it. Is this still true or is there a true mechanical reason to replace it?Little update for those who might wonder. Dealership has ordered a left side turbo and the synchros for 2nd gear. Parts are on backorder, with no ETA.
I imagine one could live with it, as it doesn't seem to have any performance issues, but I don't want to. It's sad having such a nice car making such a ridiculous sound.Mine makes the same chirp noise. Honestly, I've read it's nothing but a nuisance and not really an issue if you can live with it. I agree. My concern is knowing some of these dealers service areas are hacks, I don't want to trade one problem for another. Seems like invasive surgery to replace it?I imagine one could live with it, as it doesn't seem to have any performance issues, but I don't want to. Unfortunately it's not the BOV, it's a loud chirping on throttle tip in for a split secondI couldn't get the video to play (they block a lot of things at work) so I didn't hear it, but I wonder if perhaps it's the blow-off valve?
"Certified V" is the dealership paid to send their staff to Spring Mountain for a few days and play with Blackwings. It's a sales certification. What you should probably care about is the tech World Class certified.Do the "certified V" techs even learn how to rebuild our trans?
They're more available on lots, but if you want a custom order you'll be waiting a while unless you can swing a purchase in Texas which seems to be where about 80% of all Cadillacs are delivered.I'm no expert here (duh, says everyone) but it appears that it's really not very difficult to obtain a CT4 these days. Go for the buyback if you can.
And yes, it's a shame that you've had to go through all of this, and I feel your pain. Best of luck!
That's where mine came from. Almost 6 months waiting and I went to Dallas to pick it up. My Coastal Blue over Tan with Bronze wheels won't be sitting on a lot anywhere, so it will be back to the long wait again. They're more available on lots, but if you want a custom order you'll be waiting a while unless you can swing a purchase in Texas which seems to be where about 80% of all Cadillacs are delivered.![]()
I've spent a lot of time hunting for a CT4 BW, if you want an Auto there are a lot out there. Wheels could easily be swapped, but interior and sunroof options are obviously not easy to deal with. That's where mine came from. Almost 6 months waiting and I went to Dallas to pick it up. This 100%. While I've been waiting I've tried to look at dealer inventory and it's just depressing what they think people want to buy. There's so many good color combos but apparently Americans just want black, white, or grey with a boring all black interior. I guess if you swap out cars every other year it isn't as big of a deal, but I plan to drive mine until the wheels fall off.I've spent a lot of time hunting for a CT4 BW, if you want an Auto there are a lot out there. If you want a manual you better not be picky, there are so few.
From what I've seen most dealer lot units have a sunroof. Tan doesn't seem very popular, white high performance seats or basic black seats are pretty common. Lots of cars are black, white and gray/silver and not many coastal blue, but there are some and they seem to either have the standard wheel or the bronze wheel when you find them.
