Did they take a pic?Just finished up my appointment.
They were able to press the plug back in.
There wasn't any leakage but it definitely wasn't seated correctly.
It made it 2600 miles.

Back on page two we have a picture of a correctly seated plug. So if you get under the car and it DOESN'T look like that- Houston you have a problem.Would be really good to get some pics of these unseated plugs.

Damn bro…Picked it up yesterday and less than an hour later it was back at the dealership with a check engine lightO2 sensor is being overnighted and replaced
This forum has been soooooo helpful as a new owner. I made sure they checked the plug when the car came in, and sure enough it wasn’t completely inset. V-net and Rob for the win!![]()
Glad the plug didn’t uncork on you beforehand! Did you get the dealership to acknowledge fault for the scratches at least? I’d be pretty unhappy if that happened. I saw a video posted of a guys PDR recording the tech at the dealership scraping the shit out of his CF splitter. I immediately ordered a dash/rear cam so I can record when I take it in for service anywhere. It beats walking around the car taking pictures.I went in for an oil change after ticking over 500 miles and had this checked. It needed to be fixed.
Unfortunately, the dealer also managed to scratch up my fender and hood while they were at it, so that's fun.
That sucks man, sorry to hear that for you. Careless techs and dealerships really should be held accountable. I hope they make you whole on that! I guess the silver lining is your girl didn’t puke all her oil on the side of the road and leave you stranded at least.I went in for an oil change after ticking over 500 miles and had this checked. Good call….I’m def snagging one of these. Looking to get slim and super low profile so any recommendations here are always welcome and appreciatedGlad the plug didn’t uncork on you beforehand! A quick story on dealerships being held accountable: I repeatedly told the service department at the Nissan dealership to be careful of my Brembo calipers when removing the wheels. You guessed it. They replaced all 4. Rather than eat it for their own negligence, they replaced them on warranty making corporate eat the expense. That sucks man, sorry to hear that for you. As far as I know, just a TSB out currently but I’d imagine a recall may follow. Def a terrible way for me to uncover the issue but thankful for this thread or I’d be unwinding the deal on my 25 rn.So has Cadillac actually contacted those who took ownership of 25s before this was discovered? Or are they just waiting for the owners to find themselves on the side on the road with oil everywhere, searching for answers (this thread)?
GM was aware of this problem on March 6, 2025. While the dealerships should have the proper repair process, Cadillac has not as of yet, sent out any recalls to 2025 Cadillac owners. Sounds like a really dumb idea to not inform owners of a 100K plus car that a plug might fall out and damage the engine along with many more parts of the car, tires, brakes, etc. Plus the personal madness towards GM by them not informing one of their customers that this should be checked, instead of waiting to have the plug fall out and drain all the oil from you engine onto your driveway, your friends driveway or some other location. So has Cadillac actually contacted those who took ownership of 25s before this was discovered?
