Was walking away from my car today, and noticed this underneath the crest:

An omega symbol....a message from this car's engineers of this being the last V8 performance car from Cadillac.

:(

I checked photos of 24's and this omega symbol is not there.

I've seen it mentioned by some folks.

It's a sign! Like Trump for his 3rd term and Cadillac breaks off from GM to go it alone with only 2 door sports cars!

My '23 does not have it.

Does this mean no '26 ?!?!?

26MY is confirmed. This is highlighting that there will be no ICE successor to this car once they finally retire the CT5/Alpha 2 platform cars produced in Lansing.

It's between the crest and the camera in the black housing. It took me several tries to spot it.

I kind of figured that must be it, but with the poor lighting and resolution and lack of contrast and my old eyes and all the pollen in the air, I can't really make it out as an Omega sign. Ω

Once they stop production in Lansing, there will be no ICE successor to the CT4/CT5. The only cars they have in development are EV.
The fact that they’re making a 2026 almost makes me wish I’d held off until they’re taking orders to get a BW. I’m sure they’ll add the ‘standard’ parking package to the MSRP, but if it’s true that it’s going to be 700HP then it’d almost be worth the wait.

I’m not buying it as an investment, and having to wait that long to get it plus the fact that I’ll never push it to it’s limit anyhow even if I take it to the track, make me glad I’m getting one now. Got an update today that it’s in Salt Lake City. It should arrive to the dealership for me to pick up in the next few days. It has everything I wanted (including the parking package) so why wait?

According to the press release referred to above, this:

... Parking Package (RPO code Y6L) as standard equipment. Previously offered as a $710 option for the 2025 model year, this package incorporates a few notable enhancements, such as (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Air filter (K6L)
  • Air quality sensor (USK)
  • Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ)
  • Hands-Free Decklid Release (TL3)

has me a bit confused. I'm too literal, because when I see "parking package" I wonder what/why in the world it would include an air filter. And me personally, although I haven't driven a car with one, I have seen that rear camera mirror thing and I think it's horrible, hideous and some other word starting with H.

Anyway... congrats on the almost-here new car, Truckee. I doubt that an extra 30 horsepower would even be noticed, unless they also bumped up the torque, and even then, when can you use it, really? I don't track my car (I have another one for that) and on the street we can rarely use all of the power anyway. Not to say that I don't want it, but honestly, these cars are a bit of overkill. But I love it.

It's definitely an omega symbol...can't say much more than that. Could mean the apocalypse is coming for all I know!
