Looking for input from people who have driven their car for a while. If you don't have PPF where are you wishing you had some installed on your car based on paint damage you are seeing. Trying not to do an overkill PPF install so your thoughts would be appreciated. A bare minimum list of ideas would be great.

I will take some pics of my 4BW tomorrow and show my failure to PPF area...

A-pillar forward, rocker panels, door cups, and top of rear bumper. Then ceramic for everything else.

That's a personal preference at first I would think, I got a chip on paint and maybe if I would have PPF that spot no chip? Hindsight, is what it is.

I really liked the way Sewell presented the options for PPF.

Since mine will see track time, I will be getting the 'Track' package.

I have a Hybrid the Track, thrown in front and rear head and tail lights PPF. Rear CF tail as well.

Full front, rocker, and splat is $2500 where I live in MN. A bit more expensive down in TX!

“Parts that absolutely need PPF?”
Ditto the “none”, above.
Here’s my 30 year old black MR2.
I’ve driven it summer, winter, spring, and fall.
I’ve done that up here in Canada, where winter means ice, snow, sleet, and salty roads.
Hell, we even get some of that in spring and fall.
Sometimes also, God forbid, I’ve even hazarded driving it on gravel roads!
Despite all that and no PPF or anything like that, almost every time I take the old girl out for a drive at least one person tells me it looks great.
People who know dickshit about cars wave and smile; “nice car” they’ll say to me if I’m stopped, and other things like that.
And yeah, up close I see swirls, little scratches, and all kinds of paint-flaw and damage shit despite all my desperate, obsessive spurts of OCD during which I do my best to hide, polish, and touch up all the flaws that only I actually really see.
So I understand and don’t question why anyone wants to PPF their car.
But to be honest, I think we as owners are the only people who look so closely at our beloved vehicles to see them.
So, again, to answer the question, “no”, there aren’t any parts that absolutely need PPF, none at all.

First let me say I have never PPF'd nor done ceramic on any vehicle ever. When I bought my 5BW, the previous owner paint corrected, ceramic coated and basically did the track package PPF above, but the doors are done up to the lower crease as he was a "car collector". I must say, I'm a believer now. I've been on multiple road trips and I'm really amazed at how it protects from dirt, small stones, blowing sand, bird poo and especially bugs. Almost everything comes off with some warm water and detail spray. Not sure I'd spend $6000, but the stuff works. Just my two cents.

I did the entire car minus the doors. Probably will regret not having them do the doors some day. What I like about the PPF is the prep work that went into it first. Paint was swirl, scratch, mark free and the PPF kinda sealed it up that way. Now I can no touch wash and it still looks like fresh paint. Granted I only drive in good weather to places I know it should be safe to park at. Shit happens everywhere sadly especially living close to Chitcago. If this were my daily I think I'd want it even more just to avoid rock chips on the front end.

Thanks for all your reply's. Going to let it rattle around in my head till the car comes.

None, if I want to be honest.
I also live life on the edge. I don't drive my vehicles enough to spend thousands of Canadian pesos for PPF that I'll have to reapply anyway at some point years later and spend more money.

I'll pay to correct anything 10+ years down the road if anythings really bad. My Corvette is 4 years old now with 12k miles and has maybe two small chips in the bumper and half the time when I'm cleaning it I can't even find them again.

The rocker panels are a must. After just 2 days of ownership, it already had scuffs. Rage was all i felt so that was a must.

I've had prior cars with not the best paint (only negative to my SS's) and even my quality painted S6 got chips on the door... so for this car I ended up just getting full ppf b/c I wasn't going to do everything but the roof and trunk. After paint correction and Llumar Valor...I can basically just spray detail my car. Cost me a bundle, but I'm keeping this car and it comes with a ridiculous 12yr warranty that is transferable.
By the way... be sure to tell your car insurance provider about it and they will cover it too (I think it added about $20 to my annual premium).
