Service manual shows skip shift feature

I noticed this for the 2023 CT4 BW in the service manual after looking to see why shifting into 2nd gear is blocked. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

I thought manufacturers did this to meet EPA & MPG regulations?

I had skip shift on my SS, its super obvious and the car tells you with a DIC message when its doing it. The BW does not have skip shift and judging by your other thread you have already heard this.

Years ago I installed a "skip shift eliminator" thingy on my GF's brand new Pontiac WS6. Basically just a wiring harness bypass.

I've never noticed it in my BW.
