2024 CT5-V Blackwing
I am in the market for purchasing a new Quick Jack system for my 24 CT5-V BW, but I’m having a difficult time figuring out the best suited model and any accessories needed for it to safely lift my vehicle.

Has anyone here figured this out? I’ve searched some posts and I’m still confused with what’s best suited.

I’ve tried gathering the required dimensions Quick Jack asks for from my vehicle, but the lift points aren’t even covered in my Vehicle Operator’s Manual.

Appreciate the help on this one.

I will share that it's been a struggle in some respects. The spread between lift points on a vehicle can vary wildly from model to model. My first QuickJack was too short for a V3 CTS-V. I replaced it with a 7000EXT which worked on the V3, too long for son's Camaro and Corvette that replaced it, and too short for the 5 BW (and WAY too short for our G05 BMW X5.)

So the answer to all the problems is to turn the units to run under the car from side to side instead of front to back! It's a suggested solution from the manufacturer and works for all of our vehicles now. In my case, I have some scotch tape marks on the rocker panels to help me quickly align the QJ with the lifting points.

It all works OK, but I'm definitely switching to an Advantage 4-post lift with our next house!

Please help me understand what you mean when you say you turn the units to run under the car from side to side. Thank you.

I found a photo how it looks. I have the 7000TLX. If I was only planning to lift the 5BW I would have gone with the 6000ELX. The elx frames would be able to lift the BW the normal way in parallel with the wheelbase of the vehicle, however, they are way too long to lift my Porsche cayman or any other small sports car. I wouldn't be able to lift the Cayman even if I inverted them, or lift my Mazda cx9. They are very long.

You better take measurements if you plan to lift anything else besides your 5BW with the 6000ELX.

Ah here we go… I pulled the specs for all units to compare. Yea the 6000ELX has the longest frame length at 86.75”.

Can't comment specifically on the BW, but I did have a QuickJack system for a very short time. It's pretty neat, for sure. I found it quite cumbersome and a PITA to use. I also bought it thinking I would be using it at the track. For me, a jack and a set of jack stands was easier, especially to lug around / transport! I sold the QJ to a buddy, he likes it.

Can certainly understand. For me, I’m looking forward in getting a system like this because I want to rotate my own tires, so my oil changes, inspect under the car when I want and take off the rims during deep washes of the car to clean the insides of them.

The down part to all this is my other 3 cars are shorter so the QJ system I’d need will be too long to use for them…

Just turn the units 90 degrees for your other cars per QuickJack. There's no additional risk.

Do this hack and it will make it easier.

If you guys need a QuickJack at a good price, I got one in Costco's last sale and it's been collecting dust in my place in Connecticut ever since. Never been used. Don't get one without a garage.

Which model are you selling? I’d talked with QJ a few months back and asked the rep why they no longer are working with Costco…they said they were getting too many returns because people weren’t taking the time to properly measure out their lifting points etc and getting the wrong model. Sounds like many Cadillac owners here are doing the same as well. This is why I’m taking my time and will ensure I have the measurements lined up with the correct model I’ll need. At this point it appears to be the 6000ELX.

I was one of the Costco returns...they should have had a poster or something to talk to different models and lift spreads. I love Costco but felt they simply offered the wrong model since it was too short for even a C-class Mercedes (it's a YT video.)

I got the BL-7000SLX.

The 6000ELX works great on the BW4 and BW5 because I have used it on both models.
