Questions, Nits, Acclaim, and Observations after 1,500 miles

Here's a request GM - can we have the ability to remotely view the surround cameras from the MyCadillac app like I can with our '19 BMW??
Didn’t know bmws did that.. would be pretty cool. Trying to get used to the rear view camera/mirror

Only way to make the rear camera mirror work is to fully commit to using it 100%, else you'll never adjust to the depth of field delta between it and a traditional rear view mirror. I used it for over 60k miles in my V3 and absolutely love it. Feels like a safety detriment when I hop in a Hertz without it!

Has anyone noticed ever so slight ripples on any door panels on the 4BW? I wasn't able to get any good pics and now my car is at the detailer for the week. But I did notice some very slight ripples on the door panels, Its seems like it was from the factory, possibly during the stamping process, detailer and the dent specialist agreed. They are very hard to see and nearly impossible to see unless at the perfect angle or if you're really looking for them.

Miserable! This keeps coming up! About to take to dealership.

**FIXED** Went to Dealer, rotor backing plate was touching rotor, properly aligned rotor backing plate onto position.
I hope you don't have CCBs... if you do, the CCB rotor that made contact is likely damaged.

I had a close call with CHP this morning. I got on highway 101 doing 85 and I saw this Camaro flying up to me so I thought he wanted to race so I gunned it and left him. Well, it turned out to be CHP with flat lights on top and of course pulled me over, I was lucky he just wanted to checkout the Blackwing so we both laughed. He said it was the 1st Blackwing he saw so far but warned me CHP is keeping an eye out for these cars. After talking to him for a while and checking out everything on the car, he told me to slow down and be careful.
I thought for sure I would be the 1st to get a speeding ticket out of everyone here but he turned out to be a nice guy and into cars so I lucked out.

Wow, lucky to meet a cool cop in this situation! My perception, not data, is if you're tearing it up safely in a domestic car you might have a better chance of leniency than you would with a foreign luxury brand. Again it's perception, not data.

that's amazing! If a cop pulled me over to check out my car I wouldn't be mad haha

My biggest gripe so far is there is no way to turn rev match on by default. Flipping the paddle on the C7 was way easier than finding the little button by the shifter each time you start the car. I even tried setting up those user profiles hoping it was an option but nothing.

I also saw there were some fairly obvious paint runs on the inside of the door.

I still absolutely love this car and think I'm going to just sell the C8 since it never gets driven.

I really wish I could get rev-match and v-mode set as my default start up.

Honestly, my only gripe with the car is the location of the parking brake button. I wish it were near the shifter instead of on the left side of the steering wheel. For that matter, I wish it were a traditional e-brake.

+1 on the "Rev match enabled at startup"

As for the V-mode, couldn't you just max out your "My Mode" settings and do the same thing? The car can default to "My Mode" on startup.

Does it default to my mode? Seems that mine defaults to touring.
I find this really confusing. If i hit the v button twice it goes v then touring. But was in "my" mode first? and if so, how do i get back to "my" mode?

BTW, steering on tour or medium is ok. It's godawful in the most sporty setting. It's like they tuned the steering to actively fight you - with a slight delay - just to feel sportier.

I'll definitely try the medium steering, I do find the highest setting to be a bit stiff.

So I just confirmed when I start the car it’s in tour, not my mode. So how does one even get to my mode?
