When working on your rides, make sure to have at least one fire extinguisher or a working garden hose nearby. Yesterday, my neighbor was working on one of his cars (not sure yet if they were classic/collectible) and a fire started. He had no fire suppression nearby and he burned his garage to the ground with both cars in it and then the side by side houses were severely damaged by the fire also. If he had a fire extinguisher nearby, he could have possibly prevented the destruction of 2 cars and the homes. Tis the season for us to be working on our babies. Be careful and prepared.

See, garages are just tinder. 😉😂

The local news said that a 1960 Ford Durango is what caught on fire. I'd never heard of that before and had to Google it. Its a Ford version of the Panel truck from back then.
Its a shame.

UPDATE ON FIRE **** I just discovered that it was a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado that caught on fire. How do I know ? My mechanic who works on my classic Caddy, told me that he just received a lawsuit seeking over $800,000 because he worked on the guys car one week prior ! The guy was working on his own car , in the garage and did something wrong and burned his and neighbors homes down. His insurance company has casted out a wide net looking for someone else to blame and attempt to collect from. My mechanic says he has the work order showing that he got the car running after 15 years of sitting and did NOT do any electrical work. Insurance companies and lawyers are scumbags !

Get a “purple k” fire extinguisher for your cars.

I have an old HALON extinguisher in my trunk of my classic. I should see if it still functions. I don't think they have HALON anymore.
