Morning!

Has anyone done stealth PPF on OEM blue cars? I have wave metallic and thinking about replacing my current clear PPF with Stealth PPF?

I haven't seen a BW specifically but from other experience, blue always looks good in matte finish to me.

I'm assuming you mean Matte PPF over Coastal Blue Metallic.
Should look something like this. Would be really cool.

I had matte PPF on my 1LE hood, and it was really easy to keep clean.

Edit: You specified Wave Metallic. Will also look really good on that, like the matte Mercedes cars.

Would love to see this if someone does it. My coastal blue car is going in for ppf this week, but I changed from matte to gloss at the last second because I wasn't sure how it would look. Too expensive to do twice.

Man, I think you’re either a stealth fan or not. All 4 of my vehicles are stealth: silver, 2 variants of tri coat black, and deep space metallic. I liked the colors before, I like them more after matte, but I just like matte. YMMV.

Seen in real life in Phoenix, and I think it looks horrible on the Tesla's. But I know the metallic flakes in the wave metallic may come out a little different, hence was hoping someone might have done it already.. lol..

I do agree it looks good on Mercedes..

Matte would definitely look good on a darker blue like Wave. Not sure about Coastal. I have seen it on Electric Blue, which makes the car look exactly like a Porta-Potty.

I saw an electric blue 5BW in a matte wrap. I didn't think about it at the time. Looking at the picture above, you make a very good point.

I swear I've seen a few BMW's in a similar blue with the matte finish.

It’s funny that this applies specifically in my case. I’m a long time lurker who received my custom order coastal blue CT4 in October. Initially I wasn’t sure if it was going to like it, but I went with a full body matte STEK PPF. Here’s before and after pics:

My daughter just did a matte finish on her blue GR86. I think it looks pretty good. ;)

Is it weird that I love both of these equally? The first picture I was like "man this color, dont mess with it, it's gorgeous"

Then I saw the matte and I love it. It's like two cars in one

At the end of the day, you're the one that's going to be looking at your car in your garage/driveway/parking spot so who cares what others think. If you like/love it. Do it.

My detailer recommended I go matte on my 911, and I wasn't entirely sold. I stopped by and he dropped a sheet on the frunk of the car and I was sold. So I had it wrapped in matte and couldn't be happier.

Have your PPF guy do the same. See if you like it. The hood is plenty big enough to get an idea of what it'll look like.
