During the Covid times , I wanted to buy a 2022 Kia Telluride. I went to a bunch of dealers and nobody had any in stock and the ones that did arrive on the truck were already sold. The salesman said that they don't stay on the lot for more than 48 hours. There was only 2 at the dealer I ended up buying from. One in the showroom with a sticker of 43k and a higher end version with a sticker of 50k parked out back. I ended up trading in my 2018 Suburban for 18k (saving 2k in taxes on the Telluride) and they banged me 7k over sticker for the one on the showroom floor. I ended up finding out that my traded Suburban sold for 30k !!! I considered it a wash after I sold my 2018 Colorado ZR2 for 40K that I had for 3.5 years /19k miles and paid 43k out the door. You win some, you lose some.
