For anyone that has done a muffler swap. I was thinking of cutting out the stock muffler and adding a Y at each outlet. Out of the Y, straight pipe to the valved outlet and a muffler to the second outlet. My question is if you are leaving the valve in its stock location will it still operate normally? Or is there some procedure you need to follow for it to operate normally?? Thanks.

Yes it will I did the same with my 4, it doesn’t affect the valves at all

thanks for your reply. I’m actually basing this swap after your car. Is that a black widow muffler?

I did mufflers on the sides that had no valves to control the sound to a degree. With this setup it is about 40% louder and still drivable around the city in tour mode, the car also has no resonator which is why I chose to do it that way.

That sounds great!!! I will adding the catless down pipe as well so it should get a little rowdy in the hood🤣

Not bad. So no resonators and 10" widowmaker mufflers on the quite side and straight through on the loud side. Not cats?
