Engine Component

I have a 2023 BW4 with the automatic.

There is a round, chrome like connector that sits about in line with the red and blue part of the logo on the engine cover.

This component rotates clockwise from about 0-90 degrees. There is a snap on rubber cap that has one "pin" in the center.

Anyone know what the function of this compnent is? Thanks, Don

I'm an idiot, but what is this component on the front of the CT4 BW engine right under the engine cover? I sometimes like to open my hood and stare in awe at the beauty of my BW ;), but every once and a while I find the rubber cap on this 'thing' popped off (it was hanging loose when i bought...
