I will start by saying that I have never named a car in my nearly 30 years of owning them. On the Cadillac app you can name the car, so I decided to do something that wasn't generic. If you did something similar, share your car's name and why you chose it.

Name: Adamas
Adamas is from ancient Greece and is the root word for "diamond".

Directly translated, it means "unconquerable".

My car is Black Diamond tricoat, and I like to pretend it can't be beat 😎

I nickname cars really only as a matter of convenience, to make it easier to refer to in conversation with my wife. It is never anything passionate, though I am certainly passionate about cars. My ats-v was "V", her X5 is "X", our explorer was "X", my blackwing is "blackwing". I hate that actually as its far too long, but nothing shorter has yet stuck. I think I need to transition to "wing", and see if it works.

Got into F1 shortly before getting my DL. It was at the beginning of Vettel's domination and since he named his F1 cars I thought I should follow suit and name my POS V6 Mustang and somehow have kept that tradition going. My 2016 Mustang GT was Princess Beyonce, my 2019 Mustang GT was Ms Jackson. For my Blackwing I was torn between going the pornstar/stripper route (Shyla, Katja, Kandi) or the old grandmother route (Bertha, Marge). Ended up going with Lafawnduh because Napoleon Dynamite is one of my favorite films and the name felt right for a Cadillac.

uh... I thought everyone named their cars when they get em????

Mine is named "Tricia"... as in Tricia Helfer... just smoking ass hot. Do you see the resemblance?

I've always named my vehicles as I believe every car has its own idiosyncrasies & therefore, a "soul" of sorts. The ones currently in the stable:
  • 2022 Genesis GV80 - "Genny" (for obvious reasons)
  • 2023 Chevy Stingray Vette - "Rapide" (she's pretty quick!)
  • 2016 Subbie Forester - "Gump" (movie reference)
  • 2016 Ford F-150 - "Blackie" (exterior color)
  • 2023 5BW - "Pegasus"
    • as in the winged horse of Greek mythology that came from the blood of Medusa when she was killed
    • carried Zeus' thunderbolts & the 5BW's exhaust note is a good substitute
    • the symbol of divine flight & therefore fitting for the ludicrous speeds this car is capable of
    • My 5BW is Rift Metallic so, essentially, white -- the color of Pegasus

adjusted the post... probably doesnt display right side by side. :hb
Still don't see a car -- I see this beautiful woman in a red dress & that's as far as I get... :ROFLMAO:

Nicknamed mine Black Widow after the Marvel character. I’ve been nicknaming my cars after characters for the last 4 or so cars I’ve owned. Why Black Widow? Well there is the “black” commonality with “Blackwing” and my car is radiant red and she’s a red head… :)
