I did the Corvette equivalent program and 💯 would have done it for my 4BW if I didn't have vestibular issues, so I voted that way.

I don’t think you’ll get an accurate rate on this. I only learned of Spring Mountain through this forum. There was no marketing about this from my dealer nor Cadillac. I’m not sure how many people who aren’t active on this forum will even know this exists. All that typed, you can measure how many on this forum will go though it won’t give you the true Blackwing population.

If they build ~2,000 a year, I'd guess 1,000 slots per year is about right. Some folks buy it and don't know/don't care about it's track capabilities, some are too busy, some are collectors/garage queens, early-on there were flippers, etc. From a business perspective, better to need more seats than have too many.

My selling dealer made a point to advise on Spring Mountain and gave me some marketing materials. I would bet most dealers do that to get credit for the perceived value of offering the buyer something for free. My critical thinking machine is on overdrive and generally squashes the idea of anything offered for "free". There is a cost and I paid it or will pay it in some way.

Yes.
No kids = Fun toys.
Yes and no. I've had more fun in life passing down my interests to my kids and seeing it making them happy too. Golf is probably #1. My now 16 y/o was an 11.0 index at 14. She should be college bound in the next couple years and I'm hopeful she continues to play. It gives me an excuse to play too. Not quite but, almost as expensive as racing when its all added up. My boy didn't start playing until he was in his 20's.

Agreed. No offense or judgement meant to those that cannot have kids or choose not to, but for me, being able to take my daughter and son in the back of the Blackwing makes it more special to me than any 2 seater will ever be.

I had a vasectomy last week and I've had a weird pain ever since. Going to the doctor tomorrow to see what the hell's going on. All I can say is it better be straightened out before I go to the academy the first week of April!

always been a car and motorcycle guy but my son was the one that got me into auto-x and track days.

I found Spring Mountain to be be a reasonable value for the time and money I put into it but wouldn't call it a must do. I've had some really good expperiences at HPDE events with the coach in the car with me

This is what I'd expect to get from the event.

I'd love to do it if it was closer, but that's a long drive from Louisiana. It's a significant time investment.

IMO, if you bought a BW new and aren't excited by the opportunity Spring Mountain represents, you shouldn't have bought a BW LOL. To take advantage of beating on their cars to learn how they perform when pressed is damn-near priceless to me. Could you figure this out on your own by attending multiple Auto-X and HPDE events (note that you'd have to do both to mimic the experiences offered at Spring Mountain)? I guess so, although it's hard to imagine you could do it for less, especially considering that you'd be beating on your own car. It's also hard to imagine that strategy would save you time. I've done plenty of track time myself, including possessing a competition racing license, and found the instruction at Spring Mountain to be both exceptional and valuable. I can almost guarantee you will *not* match their level of professionalism by whoever is trading seat time for track time, sitting in your passenger seat at a HPDE....
