Dealers That Are Not Charging Above MSRP

Back in August of 2021, my sales manager told me he would only order Autos for stock. At that time, if you placed an order with a manual, your deposit was non refundable. With an auto, it was refundable. If you ordered a "odd" color or option, it was also non refundable. No clue what their policy is now. So @Throat Yogurt sales guy is on point.

There are a lot of youngsters sitting in M3 Competitions. Based on what I see on YouTube, quite a few.
All I can say is, if a person cannot afford to pay cash for a car they shouldn't be buying it. Not necessarily the best strategy to pay cash, but at least should be able to without affecting other accepts of life.

You just stomped on the dreams of 90% of the normal car buying public.

...but I know what you mean...

That shows a failure of the corporate direction to filter out into the franchises as these cars are specifically trying attract a younger demographic.
Agreed. Just wait until the entire Cadillac portfolio is electric and the older demographic has no idea how to use the tech, charge, etc. They better figure out a way to start appealing to a younger demographic.

I'm a younger than average vette/Caddy buyer and just a hair shy of 50. So I'm not over the hill, but I can certainly see the top from here...lol
Regarding the youngsters, having a car and being able to afford it (not blowing up your finances to get it) are 2 very different things.

How many young people can afford a $120K car? Of course, I'm not sure what young means anymore, under 70 I would think these days.

I feel the 5BW is definitely in a different demographic than the 4BW.

My 4BW was $61,385 MSRP, so we are talking half the price and only about $15k higher than the average price of a new vehicle today. So, for the money the 4BW is actually a pretty good performance value if you don't get carried away with options. I feel I am paying a premium over a Camaro SS with the LT1 but I am getting better visibility, utility (sedan/trunk), nicer interior and tech/gauges, etc. I don't really care what the badge says.

It's like walking into the Legion (VFW for US folks) hall on raffle night

What's youthful for Caddy? Under 40? There are some 20-somethings and loads and loads of 30-somethings that have the $ for a 4BW no problem and fewer but still a decent amount for a 5BW. But they're getting M cars, P cars, Plaids, and AMGs instead. Or cheaper sporty VWs, Hondas, etc...

Obviously most dealers don't care about 'the brand' and are maxing profits, but if you are ADMing and/or providing an obtuse and lengthy ordering 'process', you've already lost 2 differentiators against those other brands when trying to get the yoof through the door.

Some people purchasing a 5 Blackwing,

110K, +TTL, 84mo, 6% interest, $500 down, $1700.00 a month, LOL.......
I have to say, the 1.49% I got for 65 months and $0 down in November on my Civic Type R is hard to let go of with inflation over 8%. Oh, and according to KBB it has appreciated despite the miles I've put on it. It's been nearly a free car other than tax/insurance/gas.

"The Texas folks are lucky to have a dealer that has built up their business like you have done. That said, the model doesn't necessarily scale well for the rest of the country, especially for a low production vehicle with supply shortages." Please explain this comment. Do you think Texas should have more Blackwing's than other states? If so why.

No pissing match requested or required. Just thought it was an interesting point that needed clarification. (or in porn terms expansion)

All of those "controls" are incumbent on who is the pocket in the process. "Kids" affording 100k cars tells me it's come to easy if you didn't sweat it. And I mean sweat it. Just my opine.

Whatever dealer/market traditionally sells the most is predicted to continue to sell the most...ipso facto gets the allocations.
