Any of you track guys used the Cosworth Toolbox with the PDR? It looks awesome. We use AIM Systems on our racecars and have used PI way back in the day, which this may be derived from…

It’s a really good piece of software. I use the Gen1 version every time I track.

My favorite feature is being able to designate a lap as the ‘reference’ and then comparing other laps to that one.

I am excited about the improvements in the Gen2 PDR. They added some features that will make PDR useful for AutoX and Drag. You can now define ‘segments’ instead of just tracks.

Same - I used Gen 1 with the V3 at Pacific Raceways. Can be really useful but I suffer from lack of a reference lap from a pro.

With weather here, I've only had an orientation run with the BW so didn't bother with updated Toolbox yet but will soon!

I am a total PDR nerd. Once you get and learn to use Pi Toolbox you'll find it's one of the best data systems out there. With the 5BW we lost a few channels and some of the other channels changed but you get 1080p and the ability to store finish lines for more than one track on the same card.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Here's a session from yesterday at the track

There are a bunch of tutorials on using the Pi Toolbox software on my channel

Here's the link to get Pi Toolbox. You can get the Lite version for free and to help get you started there are some workbooks on my site you can use that work with the Lite version.

Workbooks and such

After all those years they still don’t offer an OS X version. 🙄

Is that a 911 RSR?

Fun session to watch. With the track alignment, how is the understeer?

I'm sure it's an RSR replica but when we talked speeds and feeds on the 5BW we determined the power to weight was pretty similar but his car was 1/2 the weight with 1/2 the power. He's a club member and I really need to find out more about that car as it's absolutely gorgeous.

The balance of the 5BW is really quite good with the track alignment- as long as you don't overheat the tires. You will have to trail brake to get the right front end bite in slow corners but that's the way I like a car so you can control the amount of rotation with the brake pedal. Towards the end of the day I think the LF tire was starting to give up as I was fighting some understeer.

Part of my problem too is that I kept airing down the tires but then if it sat for a while I wasn't waiting to bring the pressures back up before hammering the car. I actually have a math channel I wrote for under/over steer and it'll be interesting to see what the data shows.

A friend of mine was there with a 2020 ZL1 1LE he just bought used. I was a fair bit faster than him but his car was on some crappy Hankook tires that the dealer put on it. Our speeds on the front straights were about the same and it'll be interesting to see how they compare on better tires.

Great info, thanks for posting. What tires do you run? If stock, what pressures and how many sessions/laps do you think you get out of a set of tires?

Stock tires. I go with what the manual recommends for track use - 37-38 psi hot. I actually did a video this weekend that shows how the tires and brakes are holding up. So far, pretty well.
