Apex Wheels for CT4-V Blackwing

I'm happy to announce the ML-10RT is now available for pre-order for the CT4-V Blackwing cars.

Due to the overall design and brake clearance requirements, only the following wheels will work on the 4V BW without the need for spacers:

Front
18x9" ET30
18x9.5" ET22
19x9.5" ET22

Rear
18x10" ET42
19x10.5" ET45

I literally just bought a set of VS-5RS's for my Blackwing 5 days ago.

*Cries*

Just mounted up my VS5RS wheels.
Went with the graphite color in stock sizes and tires. Looks so much better in person.

Followed another users instructions and made an adapter for the stock center caps. Car looks amazing now.

Looks great. I am planning to pick up a set when i am due for new rubber.

What and how is the offset vs stock? Any spacers? Do i see a stud conversion as well?

No stud conversion and no spacers actually needed.

Apex recommends a 3mm up front to maintain the stock offset which I got, but without a spacer works just fine too.

I like the graphite on black for a bit of contrast.

That looks awesome! I haven't heard about this cap adapter yet, care to share some info?

I followed DirkBGs instructions about buying some cheap black BMW caps off Amazon and using a 2&1/8th inch hole saw to cut a hole into them to use as an adapter for the OEM cap.

The caps I bought didn't have long enough "legs" to click on adequately into the wheel so I used crap tons of Hot glue to hold them in. I've done this in the past with my RS3 and aftermarket wheels and the glue held up for over a year, even in 100°F heat. We'll see how long they hold.

Pro Tip
I found that cutting "backwards or counter clockwise" with the hole saw works better through the plastic. Cutting in the proper direction causes the teeth to dig into the plastic and rip it out of my hands. Requires more spinning, but ends up working just fine.

Here are some photos.

@Apex Wheels
So I am a complete after market wheel noob- What would the recommended apex model for a direct replacement for the OEM CT4 V blackwing.
I don't want to deal with (or understand) spacers etc. Maximum I can deal with is after market center caps

Just what would be closest to OEM spec and doesn't need any other mods or components. Bonus points if its bronze.

The 9" and 9.5" wheels I bought are literally plug'n play on the car.
The 3mm spacer is just to match up the OEM front offset. I accidentally mounted the front without the hubcentric ring and spacer and it mounted up just fine. To the naked eye, one will not notice the spacer with it without- I think it's just to keep the ossets as true to OEM as possible.

Great stuff - any pictures on a CT4-V BW? I'll be buying two sets here soon (I like to have one for competition to keep the heat cycles low) and the other for normal track-use.

@Apex Wheels
For the CT4-v blackwing can I use a

18x9" ET31 front
18x9.5" ET35 rear

EC-7

with stock tires?

I don't see this in the fitment guide but I see a mix and match of these wheels in the fitment guide.
And can I use these sizes without any major issues?

I'm using: Apex VS-5RS 18x9" ET30 Wheels & Apex VS-5RS 18x9.5" ET35 Wheels with the stock tires. The fronts are about identical offset, but the rear push out about 1/2" or so, but don't have any clearance issues. The OEM offset is 28 front and 48 rear. The Apex use hub spacers but they are quality machined aluminum. The first photo is stock, the next two the Apex wheels.

Thanks! That looks great. What I wanted to check is if there's any issue pairing ET31 front and ET35 rear. Because I don't see that combination in their fitment guide. I see ET31 used as fronts and ET35 used as rears but not together.

PS- Which hub spacers did you wind up getting for fronts?

The hub spacers come with the wheels. I don't recall any branding.

Oh these are centering rings. They also recommend a 3mm hub spacer for the front.
They say the offset spacer is optional, and I didn't use it. It's only 2-3 mm different from OEM so you're not going to see a difference, and there are no brake or suspension conflicts. You can email them and they'll give you all the information you need.
