Mind you I have 165xx miles on mine now, but the key fob sits in my pocket.

If you flip it over and show some paint chips, then it would be like one of mine. I put them both in protective cases but my daily use one had some wear by that point (and other is flawless.)

I wrapped mine because it had chips.

I bought this gaudy cover to protect my key.
Made for Cadillac but not the V.

The buttons are more the issue for me... I mean the car is less than 2 years old, and its not my daily... it doesn't seem like the buttons should be unreadable at this point... especially since I don't typically use them, it just sits in my pocket.

Agree. My wife's GM truck is 3 + years (50k miles) old and doesn't look like this. Granted most of the time the keys are in her purse or center console.

Maybe skip the skinny jeans?

I would never lie to an insurance company and commit fraud, but it looks clear to me you left the key on the hood and the asshole who backed into your car scraped off the markings. Should be replaced w the repair.

Typical GM build quality, the fob handled it better than the car!

Does everyone else not just leave their keys in their fanny pack?

fanny packs are ironically cool again, which is amazing, because they are awesome
I wear one daily 😂 keep my keyless fob in the front pouch. I don't take them out other than to remote start the pick-up
