Anderson Composites vs..

@mad1100 wow. Those many gaps being on top are tough to accept if it was my car. If they were on the bottom where I couldn’t seem them, then different story. I’m shocked that the body shop didn’t notice these before installing the piece as they are noticeable IMO. I don’t know Andersons policy, but like anything else, once installed it usually means it’s yours. Of course, now that you know they’re there, hard to forget.
Good luck either way.

Just had the Anderson Composites Carbon Fiber rear diffuser installed by a professional body shop. Overall, the piece looks great, but unfortunately the fitment wasn't perfect, which has left visible "panel" gaps on the upper portion, in the areas where the connecting tabs are. The body shop said they spent a ton of time trying to get it flush, but felt they couldn't without potentially damaging the part.

1. Should I be okay with this? It is bothering me, especially considering the Anderson Composite pieces were not cheap.
2. Any ideas on how to fill the gaps so that they don't draw the eye? The white LED reverse light also shines right through the gaps at night, which is not great.
Wow disappointing… if you end up just sticking with it instead of going through the remove/return process, you could look into a product called Sugru. It’s a moldable putty adhesive which sets in about 30min or so, and dries waterproof. I’ve used it in the past for body panel gaps (side rockers) and now using it for mocking up mounts for ALP laser system in my grill.

You could take the putty (maybe black) fill that gap, wipe it smooth and level (like you were filling an interior trim crack with caulking) and let it set. It will dry like a silicone rubber. It will fill the void and make it less sightly.

Thank you for the response and some great advice. Sugru was exactly the type of product I was hoping for and the black color is barley noticeable. Posting some photos of the end result.

Excellent, glad it worked out. If you wanna take it a bit further you can hit the Sugru with Cerakote or a good rubber/vinyl protectant and make it shine a bit. Otherwise, I think the only one to notice will be you!

Debating on going with OEM or the Anderson. Adding the 2 side deflectors, make the OEM one over $3,300

I originally wanted CF1 on my order but it was on constraint in 2022. The money was already spent in my mind. And at that time there were no aftermarket options. But the splitter and deflectors only set me back $2200. Took one year to get the splitter. The 5BW is a “modern classic,” GM at its best, and wanted to keep the appearance OEM.

Your last line is spot on. The price for the OEM splitter is fair, but almost 1k for the tiny deflectors is crazy.

Good to hear!

I've ordered the front lip spoiler, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and the sideskirts. Sideskirts are backordered till December which is a killer. The rest are supposedly shipping out tomorrow.
Did your AC parts come in? I'm looking to do the same for my BW and keen to hear your experience with the install and overall opinion on the AC carbon components.

I ended up going with forum sponsor, Exhibition of Speed @Terrance Speed for the rear spoiler. I loved the attention to detail with making the V in the weave at the rear of the spoiler. I got the spoiler, looks great, high quality but haven't had a moment to install.

As for the front lip and side rockers, I'm still waiting. Anderson keeps saying 12 weeks backorder. Their site says "In Stock" but that's false. They did a website software update and everything is "In Stock" but in reality, it's not.

That's the route I would like to go as well. I really like the look of the EoS rear spoiler, but not a big fan of the very aggressive front spitter.

Were you ever able to figure out the color differences between EoS and AC carbon parts? The OEM definitley looks more "gold" and the EoS look more clear/blue. I'm hoping the AC and EoS are the same color or very close so it doesn't look off with having carbon components from 2 different supplier.

@Squatch hi Katy neighbor! Great to see someone else in the area on here with a BW & a 5BW. Maybe we can meet up one day.

For my 22 5BW, I added the factory rear spoiler shortly after buying the car and love the gold hue. I received a great price deal using Cadillac points and worked a deal that way. I felt the same way about the EoS front splitter. It was too aggressive for my taste. Based on other posts, EoS products are of excellent quality. I have never used AC, but nice to see some aftermarket carbon being made.

I finally have all of the OEM carbon pieces for C1 & C2 options available from the factory, so I am trying to find some time to install everything in October. I wanted all OEM carbon, so it's been a scavenger hunt for me over the last year to buy what I could find. I'm trying to find time to polish and ceramic coat everything before I install.

I have downloaded the GM service documents, so I am trying to understand how to pull the front & rear bumper covers. The only video I found to remove the front bumper cover could have been better. My work has kept me busy, so I am trying to take some vacation to accomplish in Oct.

Yep, appears Anderson is selling through many outlets. All the wording seems the same from their site to the other sites.
