I came across the Engine Life numbers on the dash the other day, and recalled this thread. Here are my numbers from today:
BW4, Manual Trans
Mileage = 6753mi
Revs/10,000 = 2567
Hours = 210.9
Idle Hours = 36.5
Throat Yogurt's calculation method... 2,453.17 lifetime RPMs
After subtracting idle revs (assuming 700 RPM at idle)... 2306.67 lifetime RPMs.
Average moving speed... 38.72mph
I drive a mix of suburban and highway (NJ Turnpike).
Looking through the numbers from others in this thread, I was surprised by the high idle hours numbers, in some cases nearly 30% of total hours. So I calculated my idle hours percentage... 17.31%
I've attached an enhanced version of the spreadsheet posted above. This one adds the calculation of lifetime RPMs after subtracting the idle RPMs, to give a more accurate lifetime moving RPMs. It also shows your idle hours percentage (and moving hours percentage).
