I configured both the way I wanted and they came within a few dollars of each other, so there is no discernible financial difference between the two of them.

Would any of you consider the M5 over the BW?

Maybe paste the M5 build specs as the code doesn't work (maybe requires an account or local cookie?)

There are probably many valid reasons to consider an M5. However, if you value an engaging driving experience I think the 5 BW wins hands down - and not just for the MT....but yeah....

I have an F90 M5 and had a 09 CTS-V before that. Take the 5BW over the new M5 (G90). The new M5 has an overly complex powertrain, and they have gone down-market on the interior luxury. A big reason I wanted an F90 was it is nicer inside than the BW and I wanted a change of pace after 20 years of CTS-Vs. There is a reason the G90 costs the same as the F90 despite inflation and a far more complex powertrain. Money had to be saved somewhere...

That said I love my F90, but if it blew up tomorrow I would really only consider the 5BW

I've driven the M5CS (previous gen) and agree with others that it is the one to get, not the current fugly hybrid generation.

For me, the manual is a must-have, so the BMW never came into consideration, despite my extensive history with the brand.

Also, if you value your comfort, the caddy has a better ride. If you value contemporary technology that works most of the time, then the BMW is your choice.

If the BW was not available with the manual, I would not have bought it and would have just kept my M4.

When I last considered the M5, I decided to save about $40K and buy the M550i which has 95% of the performance but easier to live with and less depreciation. I had that for nearly a year with no issues, it was a great car. Only got rid of it to get the wife an X5 (which later blew up).

That video is the M5CS. Not the current gen 5,500lb behemoth BMW is making.

I suspect that unless the M5 is a special edition of some sort, the CT5 will hold its value better, especially if it is a manual trans CT5.

No way I would give up my 3 pedals and the ultimate driving experience, no way.

Owned an E39 M5 and it was my favorite car before the Blackwing. Didn't even bother driving the F90 M5. The 5BW is far closer to the spirit and goodness of that E39.

I didn't even consider anything German bc I wanted the MT. Had the 5BW not come in MT, I'd have kept my MY20 Wide-Body Charger Hellcat.

You're on a V-Series forum. Obviously, everyone on here is going to side with the BW.
No doubt about that. Count me in the minority that thinks the new M5 front end is better or at least as good as the new Blackwing front end. But neither is attractive. And still nobody talks about the Blackwing back end... how they changed nothing there after going forced-aggression on the front end is beyond words. It is so mis-matched.

The rear face is their attempt at empathy for everyone that get's passed on the track.
