I have never ,ever had any ambition to go to Mexico. The closest I ever came , was at Imperial Beach , California , where I could see the border fence extending into the water. I was told not to swim or surf in the waters , because the Mexicans pump raw sewage into the ocean that drifts up into San Diego coastline. I could smell the funk from the beach. I'll take my chances with the Canadians.
Our son was in BUDS (SEAL training) years back. He got a serious case of the shits from the TJ sewage. The beach where the students train is deep, soft sand. Wife and I've walked it many times, I'm retired Navy.

So Mark pushed himself WAY too hard, collapsed. Had a temp of 107. Shipped off to Balboa, the Navy hospital and was the end of his SEAL dream. Don

I had never been to anywhere west of the Mississippi River. When I retired, I bought a new Kia Telluride and we drove from NY to San Diego and back. Alot of stuff to see at Balboa Park and the Navy yards museums. Maybe I will fly back next time and see the sights. I took a Pepsi bottle and filled it with Pacific Ocean water and sand. The sand was beige and the water was clear for about a week. THEN it all turned black and I opened the cap and it stunk like crap !! It became a bio bomb .
