Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

Congrats on the BW! It’s already March…I would save money and drive on summers. They work fine even in 30s…just take it easy on throttle especially when turning. I’m in Chicago and have had no problem but I do not drive in snow or on wet roads if cold.
Thanks for the reply Beamon. No cracking or anything? My biggest concern was the structural integrity of the tires. If it’s cold and wet I’ll drive my RX350, the thing is a beast in the snow (reminds me of the 90s Subaru wagons that nothing could stop). I’ve been driving in snowy conditions my whole driving life. I’ve driven a mustang over the dinner summit while it was dumping snow and chains were required (I disagreed so took a backroad to go around the checkpoint) with no issues. Any car can drive on ice/snow, as long as the driver knows how to handle it.

Knowing you’ve driven in under 40 temps is reassuring though. Appreciate you!

Also, March can be when we get the most snow. We call it miracle March because it extends our ski/snowboarding days. I’ve seen it snow in every single month of the year up here. It’s pretty common to get a few feet of snow in a storm… though lately it’s been more rain than snow.

Yo fellas, bumping this thread.

I’m picking up my ‘25 CT5 BW later this week from the dealership in Reno, NV. Temperatures are likely going to be below 40, and I know that’s risky on the summer tires. Gotta drive it from Reno to Portola which is about an hour. The roads should be dry, but being that they’ll be new summer tires, I was thinking of buying a set of winter tires to have the dealership put on. I’d like to be able to drive it in colder temperatures, though I’ll be in my AWD when it’s actually snowing.

Any suggestions to add to what’s already been said is appreciated. I’d love to get the Alpin PA4s but can’t find em anywhere. The only thing I can find locally is the Zein RS3-G1s. Anybody have experience with those?
I’ve driven the PS4Ss in temps as low as 23 degrees. Not a single tire exhibited cracked rubber. You’ll be fine. Just take it easy until you get some heat in the tires. It may take a little awhile for that to happen. Check tire temps often on the DIC.

That is so good to hear man. You have no idea! I plan on taking it real easy (for break in and learning purposes anyhow). I did just find out I’ve got to drive about six hours up North to make sure my mom is alright, so I’m a bit concerned about driving it in the rain. I’ll take er easy though and I’m sure I’ll be okay.

The PS4Ss are pretty good on wet roads. Set your drive mode to Snow/ICE to dull throttle tip-in and don’t do anything crazy and you’ll have no problems in the rain.

If I could like this twice I would. I’m getting so stoked! Hope to pick it up Tuesday barring any delays on the dealership end.

For all season-tires I went with Michelin Pilot Sport All-seasons. I followed the advice of others on this sub and went 325/30/19 on the rears and 285/35/19 on the front. I used 5mm spacers on the rear per recommendation from the shop. Honestly made a night and day difference, car feels so much more planted and definitely less tail-happy. Also it's hard to point out in pics but the wider tires make it look so much more aggressive in a very understated kinda way.

Pardon my ignorance but why did they recommend spacers?

I saw a few threads on here about 6mm spacers needed to ensure the 325 rears fit without touching the inner liner. The shop said 5mm would work as well and I wanted to go with the smallest spacers needed without rubbing.

Ah got it. Funny I would have thought clearing the fender would have been the bigger issue.

It's a combination of not rubbing the inner liner and also clearing the fender. 5-6 mm is perfect.

Agreed that the spacer gives the rear a more aggressive stance.

Where did u source the spacer if you don’t mind my asking.
US Wheel Adapters. 5x120, look for hubcentric (without lip) & specify the thickness you want.
