I have a 24’ CT5 V and been hearing that it has a fake engine sound that can come through the speakers.
Is this true and if so can it be disabled?

Whoa this is a very interesting development! The 5BW definitely has fake noise and there are other threads about how it is basically impossible to disable without essentially bricking your infotainment but I had never seen anyone discuss this sort of plug. I wonder if it would work.I know for the 4 they have noise cancellation that selectively gets rid of high frequency engine noises they determined to be unpleasant.
Here's a link to a place selling ANC bypass connectors so you don't have to snip any wires. Looks like you'll need to scan your vehicles QR code to get a list of your installed RPO codes so you get the correct harness.
