I’m just guessing based on all the telemetry readings I’ve seen and assisted with over the last several months. From a customer service perspective, it may just bit easier to ship two new mufflers with the corrected valves/springs then sending a customer springs and having them do the install…...
If I had to put my finger on what changed; I’d be willing to bet the weight rate of the springs in the mechanical valves were changed… I’m guessing the rest remained the same.
Shit perhaps I should submit a claim for some new valves, i think i have one of the original batches... I never got codes though. Very odd.
Either way, glad to hear you're set, for now. And yes Tapout was great when I ordered through them.

I got no dog in this fight... I've been eye-balling the Le Monstre since announced, scouring for part numbers as I loved the blue CF parts and the flat grey exterior... I even went so far as to order one of seat belt retractors to check the blue on my BW... unfortunately the blue hues are way...
Any decent bi-directional OBD tool should be able to do it... I have several including a relatively cheap one (HERE) which will perform the relearn.
The relearn function resides within the ECM > Special Functions > Learn Function > Variable Exhaust Flow Control Valve > Learn
