This bulletin advises the Service Technician of new retainer assemblies that are required to be installed during any repair that requires the half shaft bolts to be removed or replaced.
If half-shaft has been separated from the differential:
Service stock half shafts may include POA retainer assemblies that have the shorter bolt (1), these assemblies may require to be exchanged with new retainer assemblies that have the longer bolts (2).
Use the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), SI, and the GM Electronic Parts Catalog to determine the proper part numbers for the half shaft, if replacement is required:
