- Information
This bulletin advises the Service Technician of new retainer assemblies that are required to be installed during any repair that requires the half shaft bolts to be removed or replaced.
- Three retainer assemblies required per half-shaft.
- Each retainer assembly consist of 2 longer length bolts (1), 2 lock washers (2) and 1 retainer (3).
- Where applicable, each axle assembly uses 3 retainer assemblies per side.
- Replacement of all retainer assemblies are required during repair.
- Correction

If half-shaft has been separated from the differential:
- Remove and discard retainer assemblies.
- Install new retainer assemblies.
- Torque bolts to proper torque specifications. Refer to Fastener Specifications in SI.
Service stock half shafts may include POA retainer assemblies that have the shorter bolt (1), these assemblies may require to be exchanged with new retainer assemblies that have the longer bolts (2).
- The new half shaft bolts must be removed, measured and discarded if the length is incorrect.
