I noticed this while washing my '22 4BW last week...the coating on the black metal trim around the windows seems to be wearing off, displaying a silver/copper color beneath. It is particularly prevalent at the corners where the metal is bent, but there is an area on the flat section below the window that is evident as well. Anyone else notice this?

For the record, the car is ceramic coated and has never been through an automatic car wash, though it is my daily and is parked outside 24/7.

What chemicals are you using for your hand wash? If somehow tire/wheel non-acid or acid cleaner got on these trim pieces, I can see this happening.

Only car wash soap. So far, Meguiar's, Griot's, and CQuartz only. My wheels are ceramic-coated too, so I only use car wash soap to clean them.

I've seen a number of people on the internet complain about blemish issues occurring on the black trim. All got warranty resolutions.
