Using my Escalade V to help with my move, I am going to be towing an enclosed trailer for about 670 miles each way. I have never towed anything before so thought I would most here looking to see if anyone has advice on things I should look out for in particular with the V.

I assume I need to disable the height adjustment when going to park, and use Tow mode. Beyond that, anything that you have learned form experience you would like to pass on?

Thanks!

While I don't have any specific information to share on your particular tow vehicle there are some general things to look out for and pay attention to. It's a good idea to keep eye on the transmission temp and keep it
under 220. Carefully inspect trailer tires as a dead/blown tire on a trailer can be very dangerous especially at freeway speeds. Make sure they are properly aired up and in good condition without weather checking or bulges on the sidewall. If it has trailer brakes, make sure they are properly adjusted. Generally a loaded trailer can take more brake then an unloaded one without skidding and smoking the tires. Most important is to take your time and stay safe.

I tow my rzr on a small utility trailer and it tows like a boss. I did watch my water and trans temps like a hawk for a while but realized that it was having no problem cooling.

Really, just remember it’s a supercharged hotrod of a suburban and go a little easy on the starts and stops. Watch your temps a while and get a feel for how it handles cooling with the wall of a front end that is an enclosed trailer.

I bet you’ll be fine. I was pleasantly surprised. Also, yes, definitely use tow mode.
