Hi everyone, new guy here. Hoping to buy a Gen1 V soon for my daily driver.

My parents bought a nearly new 2005 V when I was in highschool in 2006. I drove it quite a bit and I always loved that car.

I was traditionally a GM performance car buyer since then. Had a bunch of LT1 B body’s (they were quick when I was in highscool with some mods). I still have an LT1 Fleetwood I’ll be letting go of this year. I had a 96 Firebird Formula Convertible, then a C5 Z06, then I got my first Mopar and got an LS1 C5 automatic to complement it.

I now have a 1999 Viper GTS, a 2023 Challenger Hellcat Widebody M6 that I custom ordered, and a 68 Deville Convertible that a previous owner swapped a 500ci into with a small cam (don’t know why they didn’t stick with the 472).

My daily/winter beater is a 2003 Lincoln Town Car and our family wagon is a 2023 Durango R/T.

Im getting rid of the Fleetwood and the 68 Deville this year and have decided to get a Gen1 V for my next daily driver. I’ve never driven an LS2 V but I’d imagine I’d be happy with either LS2/LS6 if I can find a deal on one with under 50k miles.

Anyone feel free to let me know things I should be on the lookout for with these. My parents bought their 05 in 06 with 1k miles on it and we never had any issues. I know the rear ends are weak and the buttons for the nav peel. Other than that I haven’t found too much that anyone talks about now that they are ~20 years old.

Oh and my parents now have a 2010 V sedan A6! I’ve been working on them to get a CT5BW M6 though 😁

Anyways, let the hunt begin. If anyone has a good line on one let me know. Looking for under 50k miles, no accidents, in great shape, and mostly unmodified. I don’t mind if it has an exhaust or if the rear end has been upgraded though.

What's your budget?
I missed what looked like a great one on EBay in January. 2005 and 39k miles sold for $18,200. Recent ones with a less mileage on BAT have bid up around $21k but they didn’t sell. There’s one on Cargurus now with 47k I think asking ~$21k but it looks a little rough and the dealer doesn’t seem willing to budge.

I’m hoping to get one for $17-18k but it’s hard to say if that’s reasonable with so few available or recently sold. Less would be better but I want a decent one. It doesn’t have to be flawless.
