Hey, all. After thinking about for a year or so, placing an order for a MY 2024 back in April, lurking here forever, and re-ordering a 2025 in September, it seems my time in the pen is winding down. My 2025 Cyber Yellow 4BW is "in transit" (inshallah). Look forward to finding the limits with y'all.

Congrats! (in advance)....great freeway cruiser but to test the limits you'll need to take to the hills. Post some pics and an update when it arrives. What cars are you coming from (or still own)?

I had one on order and joined this forum. Somebody here pointed out there was a car for sale in Atlanta nearly exactly to my spec. I was waiting for a cab to take us to the airport when the salesperson from the dealer contacted me and I finalized the deal as we were boarding the plane to LA. I changed my return flight to Atlanta and after an all nighter from LA picked up the car and drove it home to DC (vi Tale of the Dragon).

Thanks! I plan on hitting the track not long after I get it, and until then there are plenty of canyons and hills here in smokey Southern California.

My last few vehicles have been a 2017 BMW S1000R (still in the garage, but unridden since my son was born), a 2018 BMW 340i 6MT (RIP) and, currently, a BMW X3 M40i.

Cool. Be interesting to hear your impressions of the Caddy after driving pretty recent BMWs. I think the Caddy compares favorably in pretty much all respects.

Don't forget to let the engine break in - at least 500 miles (some say it needs more)....before revving it out like crazy...

I used to live in LA (back in the 1980s) and still have friends and relatives there so get there often. I used to love drives up in the San Gabriels as well as South and East out towards Mt Palomar, Temecula and into the desert.

A friend of mine has an X3 M40i....lovely engine. I've smoked him several times in my GTI though (even once in the rain)....much to his dismay...the 4 BW should be even quicker - even if it may not feel like it due to linearity of the power band...

Some people, like the people who wrote the owner's manual ;)

I did follow th 1,500 mile suggested break in though I'm often skeptical of the absolute need in doing so. As tough as it is trying one's patience its probably best to be conservative....but I think as long as you avoid burn outs and crazy stuff early on you[re probably OK.

It was particularly tough for me keeping it under 4K rpms on the tail of the Dragon on my first day with the car....but I managed to restrain myself (though not on the cornering Gs....)

Hey at least it was only 1500 miles. Could you imagine having to wait for over 2400km?

LA in the 80s must have been a trip. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, floated around for a while, and landed here in 2016. Wish I'd bought a house when I got here 😩

The B58 is an incredible engine. I wish BMW had paired it with a decent manual transmission. The plan was to move on to the S58 when the new M2 came out, and then the new M2 came out . . . So here we are. Anyway, if I could manage the S1000R's break in, I think I can do the BW.
