- 2023 CT4-V Blackwing
My "new" 2023 CT4-V Blackwing has 1700 miles on it (500 miles when I took delivery 4 weeks ago) and I checked the oil for the first time a couple of days ago. I was a little shocked to find the dipstick tube was carboned/coked up... see photo of what was captured from the dipstick on the 1st and 2nd pulls. You can actually feel the coking causing resistance as you withdraw and insert the stick.
So I took the evidence to the Cadillac dealer I intend to use for service yesterday (not the selling dealer... car came from FL and I live in KS) and they tell me it is nothing to be concerned about. Not sure I agree 100%, but at least they have been made aware of the situation. Anyone else seen this problem? BTW, the car has a ton of idle time on it - when I checked the hour meter after the coking discovery, I noted that 24 of 64 total hours have been at idle! It was at the dealership for 2 full years and obviously used as a demo car at times, but jeez!
