Anyone done this color combo?

Hello guys, I’m new here but have lurked a bit. I’m looking to order a new ‘25 4BW and am between two colors and the wheel options.

I typically go white with black accents but I’m intrigued by the matte trend (though do recognize it’s likely a trend). I’ve scoured the internet including this forums parking spot thread looking to see if anyone has done the summit white in stealth matte PPF. I’d love to see this combo if anyone has done it or seen a pic of it, likely the black wheels but the magnesium ones may look good with that too.

If I can’t see matte white I’m likely going to go with the rarely seen Typhoon but then again I’m not sure if I want the black or bronze wheels with the green, I actually think the bronze wheel style in gloss black would be perfect.

Thanks in advance for any pics/thoughts

The matte finish has been around for a long time. I don't think it is a fad personally. I opted for clear PPF but did consider going the matte route.

Do you have a side shot of your 4 in outdoor lighting? I want to assess the bronze wheels with the white/black look.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve liked the idea of matte white with gloss black accents for awhile but never wanted the hassle that is matte paint, but matte PPF and ceramic I think makes that go away for the most part.

Had my wife done the photo shoot I would have the side shot you're looking for. I unfortunately don't and you wouldn't want a shot of its current state of chitcago salt white.

Scroll through this thread. You might find something close or at least interesting. Pics of your Blackwing in regular parking spots
I did, I’m pretty sure I went thru 90% of the 120 pages. Don’t recall a single typhoon, plenty of summit whites but I’m really hoping someone has stealth/matte PPF’d a white so I can see it, 6-8k is a lot to spend on PPF if Im not sure I’d like the look.

Someone also mentioned a delivery thread but I couldn’t find that.

I like the look of the matte finish wraps in some colors. A matte white would look alright, but if you get any type of blemish or rub spot, you will need to replace that panels entire wrap. The darker the matte wrap, the harder to maintain. You would definitely need to garage and baby the car. Mine is a 22' Summit white and I have the PPF on just the entire front . During the winter it gets put away for the winter, so no matte -salt finish. My primary home has no garage and I only cover the car when bad weather is coming. I am contemplating getting a carbon fiber aftermarket hood and then using 3M carbon fiber wrap on the roof and trunk lid. I want to see up close before I decide.

Thanks for the input. I definitely don’t think I’d get a standard matte wrap for the reasons you mentioned. I am very hesitant to put a wrap/sheen on the car that makes it impossible to maintain. (As a side note I’m hearing the bronze wheels are a pain to keep clean). But I’ve seen some videos (admittedly from shops/installers) that claim the newer stealth matte PPF wrap is much less of a pain than the regular color wraps or matte paint and retain the self healing ability and when also ceramic coated they claim to be no different than standard PPF + ceramic.

But again, I’m skeptical and would like to see and hear real world experience.

I've watched some detailer videos and they broke down the costs of trying to maintain PPF and what it looks like with bug stains/etc. It's not the panacea that PPF sellers would have you believe.

It is not a one size fits all but it did save me. I watched the kid back into my freshly PPF'ed BW5 with less than 2,000 miles on it at the time. She was too busy on the phone to even realize she hit me. The scuff left behind from the dipshit kid was completely absorbed by the PPF. Removed PPF and replaced and you never would know.

Not sure if color/matte PPF differs but I’ve had PPF on all my cars for the past 7 years and never had to maintain it. It makes washing the car easier so I would argue it’s less maintenance (at least a clear PPF). As for the color combo you may be able to try out photoshop or some AI tool to get a better sense of what that would look like.

Definitely take longer to clean. One of the reasons I chose the CCB (another was my rotors on my V2 and V3 warped here in the Phx summers). I've heard the bronze turns an ugly brown with the regular pad dust.

FWIW, I would've done black wheels again if I was doing the regular brakes.

When I'm in the driveway washing my bronze wheels I have to hose the concrete down after from all the brake dust. In the spring I plan to swap pads when I'm swapping to summer wheels.

I noticed that also. When just giving my BW a regular washing, there is a ton of black brake dust on the concrete , even though the wheels appeared clean. I put power stop rotors and brakes on my Challenger and its a huge difference in less brake dust. I need to see if they make pads to fit our Blackwings.
