Guys,

I am trying to get prepared so that I can lock in a 2025 5BW. I have waited several years for this and I am finally in a position to join the fray. I have a few questions and am seeking some advice regarding the allocation process. I have read several allocation threads but didn't see these specific questions addressed. I apologize if I have missed the info making this thread redundant.

So I have been speaking with two different dealers to try and get a '25 5BW secured. One has me on standby until orders open up, like everyone else. The other one has recently told me they have received an allocation for a '25 5BW and that I am first for that allocation. They said they are just waiting for the Order Workbench to open up so that my order can be submitted. A few questions:

- How can I be sure they indeed have an allocation for a '25? Isn't it a bit early since GM hasn't even opened up the Order Workbench for '25s?
- If they do have an allocation and I submit an order for said allocation, am I guaranteed to get the car?
- If one of the dealers has an allocation and I place the order, should I abandon further pursuits with the other dealer? Or should I entertain two allocations/orders for fear of one not going through for some reason?

Any advice would be helpful here. The time for me is now (finally) and I don't want to miss any chance of taking delivery of a car. Thanks.

Welcome to the Goat Rodeo version 2.0!!!

1) How can I be sure they indeed have an allocation for a '25? Isn't it a bit early since GM hasn't even opened up the Order Workbench for '25s?
- You wont, I doubt Caddy have divvied up the allocations yet since I don't believe they'll go into production for a few more months. Usually, Model year doesnt roll over till August but since they're retooling some for the updates, sounds like it might be delayed till September for the Blackwings. Sooner for normal CT5s.

2) If they do have an allocation and I submit an order for said allocation, am I guaranteed to get the car?
- No, since dealers can be slimy assholes. They can always jack the price up on you on delivery by $20K over MSRP and you walk away. Or sell it under you by saying it hasnt be made but they sold it somebody else. We've seen alot of crap go down here in 2021/22 when these cars first came out.

3) If one of the dealers has an allocation and I place the order, should I abandon further pursuits with the other dealer? Or should I entertain two allocations/orders for fear of one not going through for some reason?
- Depends on you, can always keep them both and see which one shows up first. Hopefully there's no deposits involved or make sure its a refundable deposit if you decide to cancel one.

It does seem odd to me that they could have an allocation for something that is not currently orderable. Allocations only last from Thursday to midnight on Saturday in a given week. I can only assume you would have to be able to look into the inner workings of the dealership to be able to confirm allocation status.

Once books are open, you create the order with the dealer and get an order number (meaning it is entered into GM Order Workbench). Then, the dealer has to pair that order with an allocation that they might have received.

Once paired, comes any alterations that might be needed to the order based on any constraints on any options on your order. Your dealer should reach out to you if any alterations/constraints apply and what to do about it. You can change your order to avoid constraint issues or hold to your order and wait for constraints to subside (usually no for-knowledge of when that could be). In that case, the dealer will take the allocation that you could have used and use it for another order as they please. If constraints are lifted, new coordination between your order and another allocation will have to happen. Of course, you don't know if the dealer will get another allocation during that time.

After order acceptance by GM (meaning your order and allocation confirmed), there is a small amount of time the order could be modified (like you change your mind for an option) before acceptance for production. GM attempts to accept dealer orders on Mondays and modifications can be made until Tuesdays at 9p eastern time.

When cars were really hard to get, people put in orders at multiple dealers and waited for whoever came out in their favor. Tread carefully if any deposits might be involved.

I believe that allocations are based partially on prior year volume. Find out how many Blackwings the dealer sold the past few years.

I very much doubt they have an allocation. Allocations need to be submitted before the end of the week by the dealer so they should be asking you for your build info in order to submit it.

Most likely they are saying they will submit your build into the system but they can't because 2025s aren't available to be entered. They are also probably saying you are first on the list and they will give their first 5BW allocation.

Submitting a build doesn't mean anything, you need an allocation to be matched to your order.

Once you have an allocation, you will be getting the car, GM will be building the vehicle. Some people will say the dealer can do shady shit and sell it from under you or jack up the price etc but thats not common at all and this is the 3rd model year. I doubt this is an issue anymore but research your dealer and feel them out.

Generally you would sign a bill of sale agreeing to the price of the car when the allocation comes in so they can't hose you.

Go to Novi Michigan ,Novi cadillac talk to Shane or sales manager ,I'm in Vegas 128 round trip on spirit and shipped for 1200 they are a high volume dealer and honor your order ,but I have seen below MSRP ,I waited 1.5 yrs in vegas 15k over and would sell my order to higher paying customers .you will get a Spring Mountain race track 3 day training sign up as soon as you get the purchase ,they are always full and stay at SpringMnt accommodation, not off site it's included ,it's in Pahrump, NV, nothing there 1 hr from vegas .

I placed my order in October 2023 for a 2024. When placing the order I had the dealer put it in writing that the car would be sold at MSRP. Once the order was placed you have to wait for an allocation to be granted to that dealer. At that time the dealer will let you know the allocation was granted and will make sure your order doesn’t contain any restrictions. I had to make the choice of passing my allocation to the next person or eliminating the CF1 package since it was on restriction. Ultimately I eliminated it because I didn’t want to wait any longer. Dealer submitted the order and then another waiting game. GM accepted my order in late December 2023. Here’s my timeline for reference. I should add that I had a little help from a high up with the UAW local in Michigan, as well as being really good friend with the sales manager at my local dealership.
