Has anyone tried retrofitting the new hvac centerstack into an older CT5?

The 2025 HVAC panel did not work. It powered up but the communication protocol must have been changed over the years.

It looks like the entire thing is now an LCD screen, whereas it used to just be the temp screen.

The LCD is still just in the center but the whole face is gloss black. The visibility is much improved on the temp readout and Icons as well. The buttons no longer light up, the icons change from white to orange when active.

Ahhh ok. The picture made it look like the entire thing was an LCD now. Good to know

If I am being honest, I prefer the individual lights on the buttons. No doubt the temperature readout on the new one is clearer.

From the photos, I agree. I'd like to see them both in person, it may be worth the upgrade. Although, apparently, not possible.
