2024 CT5-V Blackwing
with only 1,100 miles on the odometer, i pulled onto the interstate and the transmission gave a big thump and dash warning message said acceleration was limited. I've been breaking in the engine & haven't exceeded 3K rpms. The transmission seemed to downshift and then the rpms stayed at 4k. I was in Drive, but i repeatedly clicked the paddle to try to force an upshift, but the transmission stayed in the lower gear and the engine stayed at 4k. I pulled over & called OnStar to reveal that several trouble codes were generated: P0700, P2534, P25A2, P2534, U3023 & P2534.
Onstar offered to send a flatbed, but i declined on a Friday afternoon. They said to stay off the interstate. I drove it delicately home, where i replayed the PDR, which indicated the transmission dropped down for 10th to stay in 5th until i turned if off to speak with OnStar. I have the flatbed coming on Monday morning.

Anyone with a similar experience?

Codes look related to a power issue, which seems to be the most common cause of odd behavior.

U3023
12 V Starting and Charging

P2534
Wiring Systems and Power Management

P25A2
Engine Controls and Fuel

P0700
Engine Controls and Fuel

I have no idea if this is what’s happening to yours but this story sounds eerily similar to a buddy of mine with an Audi. He had mice chew through the soy based wiring insulation in a few spots of his car and it threw very similar codes.

I don’t know if ours use the old petroleum based insulation or not, but sounds similar here.

That wouldn’t work on my car, she’s a girl.

I suppose you tried unplugging the battery for 30m.

so what's the best scan tool/software for the CT5vBW ?

turns out, the Redline CI was installed on the ignition circuit causing low-voltage with every radar signal. Switching to a new dedicated circuit off the fuse-block solved the issue :)

You should amend your post title. Obviously, the cause had nothing to do with a fault of the car.

Yeah I'm going to amend my default response to weird codes and behavior on a brand new car: "Is the battery fully charged" and then "Do you have any crap plugged into the OBDII port or elsewhere?".

Who the heck wired your radar detector to the ignition circuit? Wow.

lmaooo why would not do a simple mirror tap? Glad it would just that tho.

The Escort Redline CI is an installed version in the car, which is hardwired directly vs a radar detector hanging from your windshield/rear view mirror where you can use a mirror tap or adapter.

The radar detector installation shop said they use the ignition circuit by default, but after checking with the industry reference (?DirectTech?), it was clear that this is sensitive circuit, so the shop switched to an open circuit on the fusepanel. Issue solved.
