Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

Yea for sure. You referenced the same point ive made. The 4 is actually essentially mid engined with that stubby little 6 smashed into the firewall. I have to think think that is the main ingredient in the secret sauce.

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

My beef is the lack of revs (which the LT4 and LT1 both suffer from equally). Give me the S62 8400rpm redline from the e90 m3 or perhaps the s85 v10 screaming to 8200 or whatever it is and i would be in heaven. Forced induction of any type is great for performance but kills the soul a bit

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

I generally agree with that carmudgeon episode and if given the chance i would for sure take an LT1. However, that would make the car more emotive but i dont think it would drive better. Honestly lag is non existent in the 4 and a V8 would add quite a bit of weight in front of the front axle...

    Track Day Tires

I guess i would generally say that if you are running slicks without a roll cage you should think about things. Either youre too slow for slicks (ref: driver mod). Or if youre fast enough (based on your comments you seems to be in this category). to be a the limit on a very capable mps4s you...

    Track Day Tires

If youre pushing that hard and adding slicks you going to be VERY fast and limit handling is going to be scary. I wouldn’t do this in a car without a roll cage. If youre putting slicks on a 3800lb sedan i think that means you bought the wrong car!

    Brutal Winter Car

Wow. Thats about as awesome of a snow sport car as you can have. But also kind of sad to drive such a special car through the salt and crud!

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

Its the eagerness. The time and precision from when you deliver the steering input to when the car executes your command. Note i didnt not drive the 5 with precision package. I suspect this is perhaps the only upside of TTV6. That damn LF4 is essentially midengined (the motor sits behind the...

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

I dont disagree in a sense-but i think we get into a dictionary fight. The sheer power of the 5 is unmatched and very special - and yes, incredibly exhilarating. However, you give me a canyon or mountain road or tight technical track and the 4 will give me more goosebumps (and is more...

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

I am not going to say the 4BW is “better than the 5. That would be silly. However, having driven both I would say they are totally different cars (and probably for different buyers-I am guessing not many cross shop the BWs). This not so different from an e46 vs 39 or e60 vs 90. The 5: Other...

Has anyone owned both 4vBW and 5vBW?

Which M cars? I think i generally agree with this. My complaint with the 4BW is that it is too capable. Its AWESOME on track, but hard to be a hooligan. I feel like the M cars want to be sideways whereas the e-diff and general computing in the 4BW are like “that is not fastest way around this...

Dealer says my 2023 CT4-V B/W with 14K miles needs rear break pads replaced? I love this car and a pretty gentle driver.

Don’t blame the “American” car. Did you take the 90 seconds to inspect the pads/rotors yourself? Based on your post (and the OP) seems most likely that you’re just getting ripped off, replacing parts that don’t need replacement…. And that’s not the cars fault…

    Break in 6MT fluid change

I have a set of quick jacks. Why are you concerned to turn the car on off the ground?

    Break in 6MT fluid change

I did. Probably kind of pointless in my opinion, but it only took five minutes, so why not… I think this is probably much more relevant for an automatic transmission change where the pump needs to circulate everything.

    Break in 6MT fluid change

Yes of course cracking the fill loose as step 1 is always best practice and common sense

    Break in 6MT fluid change

If I recall, the fill plug is just a 1/2 “ drive similar to the diff plugs. There are no plastic plugs-both are metal. Just the connector for the temp sensor (there is no “level sensor”) is plastic, but you shouldn’t be wrenching on that at all. This is an easy job. 45 mins maximum. From my...

Im confused…. Look at the brake pads. Take a picture and post here if you're unsure.

    Alignment

Short answer is no. Not aware of any aftermarket camber plates that give more adjustability or adjustable control arms/hubs. I guess you could try stiffer springs like swifts? The lowering will add a hair a camber due to mcpherson strut design and stiffen the roll moment

    Alignment

Ok, this making a bit more sense. There’s alot happening here. If you try to drive a front engine car like a rear engine car, you’re gonna struggle. While I love 4S tire for dual duty, its going to struggle at 10/10 for 25 mins on an abrasive track and high temps. Lastly, the 4BW is still 3800...

    Alignment

Do you drive the car on the street? I think any additional solution will absolutely kill Street drivability. Therefore, honestly, I think you’re cheapest in the long run solution is dedicated track car. That said, not trying to be a jerk, but if you are chewing shoulders with the track...
