Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

I did some Googling for 305 30 19 all season tires and found the Lexani LX20, which is available in 275/35R19 and 305/30R19. https://www.prioritytire.com/by-brand/lexani-tires/lx-twenty?var-lexani=170630& They are, presumably, Chinese-made so I don't know how comfortable you feel about putting...

Absolute Dearth of All-Season Tires for CT5-V Blackwing

I bought a set of the base shiny chrome looking factory wheels (my 5BW came with bronze wheels) and put a set of 275/35 and 305/30 Cooper RS3-G1s on it shortly after I got the car in early-mid 2023 for winter use. I didn't realize that the Coopers had been discontinued. They're easy to spin in...

    2025 5-BW Precision Package Questions...

I figured as much. Is that something that might ever be available to an end user, or is it a pipe dream to hope that someone other than the Cadillac factory would be able to outfit a 5BW with the PP?

    2025 5-BW Precision Package Questions...

I'd love to see those posts. The PP has me considering trading my 2023 for a PP-equipped 2025, but if I could DIY on my 2023, AND save money, I think that'd be the course I would take.

CT5-V CCBs soon to be available for 5BW! Yes, carbon ceramic rotors for iron-disc cars.

Do you think that's actually necessary or even beneficial? Guys swap CCBs for iron discs on the C7 Z06 and I don't think I've ever seen anybody say anything about having the MRC updated.

CT5-V CCBs soon to be available for 5BW! Yes, carbon ceramic rotors for iron-disc cars.

A while back, I reached out to RacingBrake.com asking about carbon ceramic rotors for iron-disc 5BWs. Their rep responded and confirmed it was something RB could do. We traded a few emails, then last night, I received an email stating that the CCB conversion kit is up for presale. RB-CCB...

    Jacking up your Blackwing

I just notched the plastic piece near the pinch weld so that the ZL1 add-ons pucks would fit.

CT5-V Reluctant to change oil despite 0% life remaining

That seems excessive to me, but it probably won't hurt anything either. I have a UOA to send in from my 4900-miles-on-the-engine, 3400-miles-on-the-oil oil change, which has ~80 minutes of track time on it. I'll post it when I get it back.

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

I'd sent an email to Racing Brake (www.racingbrake.com) a while back and traded a few emails from them. One of the reps is looking into the project. Current status is "Collecting relevant OE samples for a system overview, the design s/b completed by the end of next week with an expected...

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

Do you guys have any experience with these pads, also on closeout at KNS? DBA XP Performance Brake Pads Closeout for 2023 Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing Iron Discs The description makes it sound like they'd tolerate at least light-duty track use. Mostly curious about dust (IE, chasing the holy...

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

I don't trust low-dust pads to hold up to track usage. But, maybe I should just run low-dust pads for street usage and then switch to the OEM pads before track days.

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

I remember a post from someone who said that he obtained the parts from a salvage 5BW and installed them without any software changes, and indicated that they worked "fine". I say this because I suspect that GM may not be forthcoming with whatever software changes exist between a CCB car and a...

CT5-V Retrofitting carbon ceramic brakes to 5BW?

If we could get carbon-ceramic rotors that were of the same dimensions as the iron rotors so that they were drop-in replacements, would that "work"? I assume we'd need different pads--are the pads for the CCBs somehow "different" than the pads for the iron rotors?

CT5-V Reluctant to change oil despite 0% life remaining

Yes, I reset the OLM at 500 and 1500 miles. The car has one track day on it, and I am generous with the throttle during most drives, though I always make sure the oil temp is at least 150F before getting on it. I did finally change the oil at 4900 miles earlier this week. Track day coming up...

Order bank open date 2025 CT5V BW?

Terrance Sig's carbon fiber bolt-on spoilers. $1500ish last time I checked. I have one on my 5BW. Only bitch was the outermost bolts--there's no easy way to get to them. I'm not going to admit that I drilled access holes into the underside of the trunk because.. who would do such a thing...

    Pops out of 1st gear

If you're at a stop, clutch in, engage first gear, clutch out, and it pops out of first gear, it means that the gear engagement dogs aren't fully seated. This could be due to not using enough force to engage the gear, or it could be a synchro issue, or a trans fluid issue. My 2017 Corvette Z06...
